I loved the atmosphere at the camp, the food and where I was sleeping was above my expectations, everything was really great ! I came across an amazing family with so much love and kindness to give who put me at ease and made me feel at home. Spending some times at the camping Safari is a unique experience which made me learn a lot about Sri Lankan culture and about myself. I feel very lucky to be part of this and to have meet Noel Cecile and Eli, I will never thank them enough for these few weeks that will mark me for life.

People that became family and a place that became home after just a few days 😊 It was truly inspiring to learn how they built up and manage the place throughout the years. Noel is a very inspiring and helpful person who is always up for a good chat! I can only recommend this place, the staff food is very good and local. Living in a big tent has also been a great adventure that you must try if you are interested in nature. The perfect place to live close to the "wild" and animals, go on safari, and learn a lot about animals and nature. Thank you Cecile and Noel, and hope to see you around!

It was a really nice experience working in Yala. :) I learned a lot about culture and how to work together with others as a team. The area is beautiful and there are really spectacular animals around. I would recommend this opportunity for everyone, as it was really special and exciting.

My stay at the camping safari's was all i hoped for!. I learned so much and got to do so many different works that taught me so many skills. The people I worked with were so nice and kind, they had so much patience and made me feel at home. I loved my tent and all the settings of the camp, I really felt like I was in the jungle, with wild monkeys hanging out and fireflies at night, The whole place is just beautiful. Noel the host was also so nice and helpful, I had some kind of problem and he with no hesitation helped me and gave me all that I needed and made me feel comfortable at all time.

Staying & working with Noel & Cecile was nothing short of ideal as I began my travels in Sri Lanka. They were completely hospitable, generous, and always ensured I had everything I needed to remain comfortable & productive. This is certainly a position for someone who already has honed skills they can contribute. Your time comes with a lot of independence & autonomy. If you're someone who knows how to fill the gaps with your skills & you're motivated to do so, this is the perfect place for you!

I applied for the hospitality position and stayed at the camp for seven days. Because the busy season had just ended there weren't that many guests, so I worked less hours than described in the vacancy. I spent most of my time with Mano and Shani. They showed me all the nature the camp has to offer and made me feel so at home! The rest of the team were very friendly as well. Sleeping in a tent (a nice one I must add) and going on the camping are really an experience. I had an amazing time at the camp and would highly recommend it to everybody!

This experience is definitely for a nature lover who loves all things outdoors and doesn't mind roughing it a little. Mano was the man in charge when Noel wasn't around, they were both very welcoming and friendly. Mano was always around to help when I had a tent malfunction or needed some help with my daily tasks. The staffs English wasn't great so communication was difficult at times but we got by and shared lots of laughs. They would always make sure I had plenty of food and help me with any heavy lifting. If you're looking for a lively sociable volunteer exchange however this isn't for you!

Volunteering here was such a unique and memorable experience! It is a great way to experience a more local/unseen side of the country and immerse yourself in all that the national park has to offer. While the experience might seem daunting for a solo female traveler, I felt comfortable for the majority of the experience despite feeling isolated at times. I'd recommend this experience for those that are passionate about nature, willing to take initiative when it comes to finding tasks, and have traveled solo previously. Wifi/cell service is strong in pockets at the camp, but not great.

My stay at the camping was short but lovely, the camp is stunning and it was great to be able to join the camping (which you pay for, as clearly communicated beforehand). I worked in the morning, mainly cleaning, housekeeping, general maintenance and helped a bit with the bar in the evening. Food is slightly repetitive but delicious, the tent is very comfortable (it does get a bit scary at night with animals roaming around). Overall I had a lovely stay, Noel and Manu are great hosts, I feel like I learnt a lot and I would definitely recommend the experience!
