The experience

looking for a handyman to build a tree house in Yala National Park, Sri Lanka. Someone who is not afraid to get his hands dirty. A carpenter a gardener or someone who can do it all. If you are energetic, have a hands-on mentality and perhaps also share our passion for wildlife, this is your place.

Own ideas and input are very much appreciated. This is your time to leave your mark at our camp.

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Discounts on Drinks: Get discounts for drinks and beverages from our bar.

Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Requirements

Fluent English

Between 25 and 65 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Be from outside Sri Lanka

Activities & Shift

Since it is a safari camp, we are up early for safaris.

Rules

- please don't engage in drinking parties with our local staff/ drinking parties with locals from town.
- non smoker camp.
- please have your lunch within 30 minutes and do not hang around the kitchen staff.
- your shift are 6 hours per day / 5 days a week.
- 3 staff meal a day.
- free use of the pool, if there is no customer using It.
- 25 % off bar drinks.
- free safari drives based on availability, you only have to pay for the park entry fee at 12.000 LKR. - pick up and drop off at our drop off point.
