I spent two weeks with Yoko san and her family in Fukuroi. I was looking for a short getaway to nature, and got what exactly what I wanted. The work depends on the season, but the tasks are very clear and you can take your own time completing them. The kids are full of energy and fun to play with, and I especially enjoyed the delicious home cooked meals by Oharu san and Yoko san. I can recommend this experience for those who are looking to experience what it's like to live in rural Japan. ありがとうございます!!

I've just spent a lovely week with this wonderful family. I was given a list of tasks that needed to be done for the week and then was able to execute them at my own pace which I really liked. Some tasks were collecting bamboo shoots, stacking firewood, weeding in the garden etc. All were fun and rewarding. The house is in a beautiful area of the country with tea and rice fields all over, a great location for nice walks. The home cooked japanese food I received everyday was delicious! The family was welcoming and the kids were hilarious. Btw I hope Gin-chan enjoyed her ice cream bday cake!!

I had a wonderful stay with this kind and welcoming family in a peaceful, rural part of Japan. The forest surroundings were beautiful, the food was amazing every day, and the work — especially bamboo shooting and gardening — was both rewarding and therapeutic. I never felt pressured, and I truly enjoyed learning about their culture while sharing mine. I also got fitter from the tasks, which I appreciated. I'd love to return and highly recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys nature, quiet, and meaningful work.

We spent a week with an incredible Japanese family, involving us in their traditional routine. They were very kind and attentive to us, we never lacked anything, for which we are very grateful. The tasks they assigned us were fun and easy, such as gardening, so we connected with nature. Their 3 children are very affectionate, full of energy, curious and we loved spending time with them.

I spent 10 really great days with Yoko-san and her family. You're welcomed into the family immediately and quickly become part of their daily routine - helping out with various odds and ends. Most of my time was spent outside doing garden work as well as playing with the 3 sweet kids. Usually you will be given tasks in the morning before they leaves for daycare and work and then you choose your own breaktimes depending on your needs. They are very forthcoming so I definitely recommend this workaway to others. Thanks Yoko-san, Oharu-san, Renji-san, Yuzu-san and Gin-chan🙏

We spent a wonderful week at Yoko-san's, we participated in the life of the house while discovering a multitude of activities offered by Yoko-san. We were warmly welcomed by the family. The tasks requested were mainly gardening and house maintenance. The region was magnificent and finding ourselves in the countryside did us a lot of good! Thank you very much to this beautiful family for these two wonderful weeks.

We thank you so much for time you spent with us.
Yuzu cried a lot at that night we said good bye each other.
Now all kids ask us, where are Lea san and Pedro san and
which city and country you are travelling to:)
Stay safe and bon voyage!

We got to stay in a lovely traditional Japanese home separate from the family, so we had our own space to relax. We had family dinner together where we got to authentic Japanese foods and try new things. We worked on the garden, house and played with the kids. It was a 20 minute walk to the nearest convenient store and a further 10 minutes to the grocery store, so nothing was too far away. Yoko san and Oharu san are very involved in their community and invited us along to events such as dancing lessons in preparation for an up coming festival and social Badminton. We really valued our stay!

This was my first experience and I totally recommend it. Yoko-san and her family welcomed me and treated me very well during my stay. You will have your own place to stay and they will prepare delicious meals for you. The house is surrounded by nature and most of the tasks are gardening or farming related, depending on the time or helping with household tasks. I was also included in community activities with local people which is really nice. They have 3 adorable kids. By the way, Gin-chan stole my heart from day one.

This was my first homestay/worldpackers experience and I wouldn't change a thing. Yoko and Oharu made me feel very welcomed, their children were a treasure to be around and my work expectations were clearly explained. I had access to a bicycle and was even invited to family outings and a friend's event where I got to experience traditional mochi throwing. I highly recommend this stay if you want to be in nature, enjoy gardening, enjoy children and looking to immerse yourself in Japanese culture.

I had a super nice experience here. The family is adorable, their food is delicious and the room I stayed was so cute. I loved the work here, i could learn things i've never done before like planting mushrooms. I gardened a lot, which i loved, and went to the bamboo forest many times to collect young bamboo. This was a perfect way to end my trip in Japan, i really loved it. Thanks again 🙏
