Help with running and upkeeping our place in Portugal

The experience

We run a small glamping place on 6 hect of coastal land. We need help running the place ( mainly household chores in summer and some odd DIY jobs, feeding chickens and gardening).
We are off-grid so expect a simple lifestyle. However this is on a stunning piece of land directly in the coast. We share our life with 4 dogs, 5 cats and 12 chickens and a goose called Carlita. The nearest village is a 3 km hike up the hill. Beach is a 30 min. walk.

Program Details

We don’t start very early and work until lunch time which is usually around 2 pm. We are pretty easy going.
Lunch we share together and is the main meal of the day. In summer main duties are cleaning accommodation, laundry and sometimes helping out with cooking. And there are always odd jobs around like painting and basic stuff on the land etc.
In winter we occasionally have room for help with DIY & maintenance (you can enquire if you good skills).

Activities & Shift

helping hours are 09.30 until 13.30 /14.00. 2days off a week.
We can only accept 2 volunteers at one time.

We provide simple breakfast and a simple / easy dinner that you make yourself with basic stuff that we provide. We provide a nicely cooked warm communal lunch as is the custom in Portugal. We don't mind vegetarians, but we don't like picky eaters.

You will stay in your own caravan in a quite corner of the land. You can charge your phone (12 v. / USB inlet) and it has lights. You also have your own compost toilet, which you are expected to look after yourself.

Rules

No partying
No drugs
No unexpected visitors
No (camp) fires
Must like big dogs and not mind spiders or any other insects > this is the campo after all 🙃
As we are off grid, water is precious. This means that we expect you to be careful with water and not shower for long periods.
