Help us constructing Eco lodges & maintaining the forest trails

I only stayed for about a week in the project but I absolutely loved it. After being in Montréal for a month I needed to be in nature again and the project was the perfect place. I enjoyed spending time in the garden weeding, painting wood, helping for pizza night on Saturday, learning about the project, improving my French a little bit, hiking + swimming and baking banana bread. I got to meet so many lovely people, the other volunteers and especially when Paul's family stayed for two days, it was always such a great atmosphere. Definitely going to miss this place, grateful for this experience!

Very beautiful and relaxing area, Paul does a good job providing everything you would need. At times the work is not the most coordinated but besides that it was great!

At the project, you contribute to a good project, immersed in nature and surrounded by people. As you're living in the forest, you work in the garden, doing construction work or help finishing different projects. You learn skills like building, gardening, English and/ or french and more. You can spend time with the other volunteers and Paul, as well as Nicole (the two owners) cooking together or sitting at the fire. It's a calm, alternative place in nature to learn all sorts of things and spend a nice couple of days/weeks.

I really enjoyed my time in the project, it was a very lovely place and everyone was so welcoming! I don't speak French but they were very accommodating to speak English at times to make me feel involved. And it was interesting to learn how Paul, Charles and Nicole have made the project self-sufficient and sustainable using different forms to live off the land

Beautiful area, Paul was a great host and a great cook! Had a good time getting to know every one, learning about the native plants, gardening, taking advantage of the lake for swimming. Very peaceful area with very interesting projects coming.

I had a difficult experience at the project. Paul the host was lovely and very welcoming but the experience itself was not what had been put forward. I went to the project to meet other backpackers and work on "maintaining forest trails and building eco lodges". When I got there, there was a lack of communication from Paul over what was really going on/who else was there. After some more questioning Paul explained to me that there wasn't really much work at all due to the winter, nor any other backpackers arriving for a number of weeks, and that I'd be working on building his brother's house.

I had a beautiful time in the project. It was truly a perfect opportunity to heal in mother nature for a while. The land is beautiful, almost as beautiful as the people. It's definitely easier if you speak French, but you will be treated as family either way. This is a great opportunity if you're looking to get away from society for a while, and you'll live quite a simple life that consists of a few hours of helping out on whatever project they've got going on at the time. Thank you to Paul and others for taking such good care of me, you will forever hold a spot in my heart <3
