I had a peaceful time at the farm. Sylvie and Jerome are very nice and kind people and the animals are sweet as well. Everything meets the description and the work is very easy and light. I got to taste a lot of new foods and got inspiration for cooking. I also grew some interest in plants as I saw how many plants Sylvie and Jerome grow. This one is definitely a 'reconnecting with nature' -typa thing as it is the countryside. There's a lot of free time and the place is far away from towns so that's something that one must keep in mind when considering applying to this position.

I absolutely loved my stay here! Sylvie and Jerome are caring, understanding and overall really amazing. We had great times in the kitchen, watching movies, visiting local markets, etc. My days mainly consisted of taking care of the animals (feeding, lunging/riding, etc.) and making/eating great food. As the others have mentioned, I had no “full days off” but that's to be expected as we are taking care of animals. I also never asked so it might be a possibility. I could not recommend them enough and I even hope to come back later in the season. Thank you so much Sylvie and Jerome! ❤️

This is the place to reconnect to nature and to yourself, sharing great meals, and taking care of animals, it is quite better for you to come if you already have experience with horses but this was a good experience for me. Thanks to them to have shared this month with me.

My experience started off well—I was enjoying my time and things were fine. However, when a personal situation came up, and I told the host I might need to return to my country to help my family, everything changed. He didn't believe me, claiming others had said the same, when I had no reason to leave before that point. He showed no empathy and became hostile. Eventually, we ended up arguing, and I decided to leave before things escalated. I truly loved spending time with the animals, but unfortunately, things didn't work out with Jerome (I didn't meet Sylvie, so I can't opine about her).

I had an amazing time during this experience! The hosts were kind, supportive, and made me feel at home from the start. The tasks were well-organized and aligned with the description, giving me the chance to learn and contribute meaningfully. I also enjoyed the cultural exchange, sharing stories, and making memories that I will cherish forever. Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity. I highly recommend this to future volunteers!

My stay with Sylvia and Jerom was fantastic. I felt like I gained a new family in France. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed. If you love animals and working independently, this is the perfect place. The "work" was light—feeding dogs and cats, lunging and riding horses, watering plants, and maintaining the greenhouse. We often cooked together, and I had plenty of free time. Sylvia and Jerom took me to flea markets and we watched movies together. I already miss them and the animals! If you want to relax and connect with nature, I highly recommend it.

I had a magnifique summer there. I took care of their lovely animals and I had a lot of freedom with the horses. Of course there were some rules, but nothing dramatic. Only common sense😉Especially I was amazed of the landscape. I loved my frequent rides in nature and I were allowed to take their bike to do some tours. Thanks to Jérôme I saw a lot of france: the tourdefrance, open-air-cinema, firework and fleamarkets. However if you don't enjoy workig on your own or even farm-work in general, maybe it's not the right fit. But if you do, you'll have an amazing grounding experience. Merci<3

I felt at home with Sylvia and Jerome. I enjoyed learning about the language, culture, and how to cook with Jerome. They accommodated my diet, which excludes red meat. I enjoyed caring for the animals as they are sociable. Like Mikayla, I did not get any days off, but I had a lot of free time between my schedule and I had brought things to do. I did not expect to be alone on the property so often, so I didn't get to work with the horses as much as I would have liked. Thank you Sylvia and Jerome for the unique experience and lovely hospitality!

I felt very welcomed here at Jerome and Sylvias Farm. The main jobs are to do with the horses. Feeding and lunging. There is a chance to ride as well. Also feed their two lovely dogs and three cute cats. My only negative feedback/concern was not having any days off. It is advertised that you get 2 days off per week. I did not. The work load isn't huge, however is mostly physical, so a day off is needed. They accommodated to me being vegetarian Jerome took me to Bergerac and a couple of flea markets which was cool! All in all it was a great stay:)Thank you! I will miss the animals!
