Such a great experience. I came as a volunteer I am leaving as a member of the family. Everyone was so wonderful, I am missing already all the great conversation with Sabinaya , playing with Siddharta , the great cooking of Sharmila...the knowledge of Shiva, he will take you to Kathmandu where the tourists don't go. You are going to live in a nice clean house in a quiet neighborhood, on the 1 st floor there are 2 private bedrooms for the volunteers and a bathroom. The family live on the 2nd floor. It is easy to go to Thamel by bus 30 mn. You will have plenty of free time.

Sylvie stayed two weeks with us. She is an extraordinary person with greatunderstanding and rationality. She is calm, easygoing, and importantly very helpful. She has creativity, dedication and patience for making better work. That’s why she is rare, different and people hardly can find such volunteer. She has become like our family member. We shared happiness, reality, and knowing each other who we are. She managed my weaker parts of social media, profiles, and helped a lot for finding right way for upcoming tasks. This place is perfect for someone who would like a comfortable place to stay but also a lot of free time to explore Kathmandu. The family is incredibly warm and welcoming and will help you with anything you need. They feed you and will show you around (free walking tour of Kathmandu). The work does not require much, as it is helping with taking photos & videos as well as leaving good reviews. The place where you will live is 20mins on a bike or car (InDrive app) from the main area in Kathmandu. Overall I felt extremely welcomed as a part of the family and enjoyed my stay immensely :)

I had an amazing Worldpacking experience in Kathmandu, Nepal. I focused on filming and editing the free walking tours and capturing the city's essence. The family I stayed with was incredibly welcoming, making me feel at home instantly. The location is great—just a short walk to the bus stop or a cheap Indrive ride to the city center. The surrounding area offers stunning mountain views and a peaceful village vibe. It's the perfect spot to experience both the vibrant city and beautiful nature. Highly recommend this opportunity

My stay at Shiva's house was quite and pleasant. His house is in a suburb of Katmandu and you can easily get to it with the local bus or with a motorcycle (InDrive app). He arranged for me a private room, hot healthy meals, drinkable water and hot tea. It was really nice to get to know Nepali culture so deeply and Shiva is an amazing thoughtful person. The volunteer part consist just in taking some photos, videos and making some good reviews about his walking tour of Katmandu and his trekking tour agency (both worth it,as I say Shiva is an expert of his culture and a good company). We really recommend this volunteering. Shiva, his wife Sharmila and his 2 sons: Sabinaya and Siddartha, all are lovely and they have treated us like a family. Thanks for the amazing Nepali food that you prepared for us and thanks for sharing all your culture and traditions. We had the chance to enjoy Siddartha's 6th birthday and it was so cute with all the family!! Also Shiva's free tours in Kathmandu are unique. We could see the incredible guide he is as he really enjoys showing and sharing the Nepali culture. Thanks again for everything, we hope to meet again very soon 🙏

Noemi and I stayed at Shiva and his lovely family's house for a week. He has a lot to share. Thank you again for the meditation introduction, it was very interesting. We really enjoyed Shiva's talks and the free tour; all the delicious food cooked by his wife Sharmila, the chats with his oldest son Sabinaya, the games with his youngest son Siddhartha and the warm company of his parents. Very recommendable!

I feel incredibly lucky to have spent two weeks with this beautiful family. From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. Shiva and his family are so welcoming and flexible. They truly became a second family to me. Being my first time in Asia, I was pleased to feel at home right away. The food was insanely delicious, and it was amazing to see how it was cooked. The children were so much fun, and I couldn't recommend this experience enough. They took great care of me, and I learned so much from Shiva. Also, don't miss the chance to visit their incredible school. Thank you, my Nepalese family.

My experience with shivas family was literally incredible, the day I got their place they made me feel so welcome, as if I'm a part of their family. I stayed for one month & fell deeply in love with nepal . The “work” is very easy & you need to throw yourself out there to actually get work. I've loved every single minute staying with them & really feel in love with the whole family. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to see the real nepali life & get to know the culture on a deep level. I had great spiritual talks with shiva which I loved too! Hope to see you again someday

I had the most amazing two weeks with Shiva and his family. They were the most kind and caring people I have met while travelling and their home is absolutely lovely. I will definitely miss the amazing home cooked meals, and the many nights of learning about the Nepalese culture. Thank you so much for teaching me the ways of meditation I will definitely take all that I have learned home with me and continue my study. The Poon Hill trek will forever be in my memory and I can honestly say you are one of the best guides in the country. So knowledgeable and caring. Thank you Shiva
