I really enjoy the time spend with Shiva's family. Very kind and friendly family. I really appreciate the time and all help received during that time. The walking tour with Shiva is also a wonderful experience to explore Kathmandu but also the unique, less known places. Can highly recommend it!

I had a memorable time staying with Shiva and his warm family. His wife makes delicious dal bhat, and the walking tour was a highlight—so much insight into Nepali culture and history. I wasn't sure if I could handle a Himalayan trek, but Shiva's gentle encouragement gave me the confidence to try. I invited a friend, and we ended up completing the 7-day Langtang trek, reaching 4400m! It was an unforgettable experience. So grateful for the support and inspiration.

No words can describe how great my time at Shiva's place was. I am really grateful about every minute spent with every member of the family. They are all kind and will definitely make you feel part of the family. Enjoying nature, local culture and the most delicious food ever was an unforgettable experience. I can proudly say I have a Nepali family now. Love you guys! I'll be back 🙏 take care of Haru hehe ❤️

I had the best experience in Kathmandu staying with Shiva and his family! It was a complete immersion in the local culture and I felt at home. Everyone in the family is incredible in their own particular way. Shiva is an excellent guide who has a wealth of knowledge about the history of Nepal, Buddhism and Hinduism. Sabinaya has a heart bigger than the world, it's a friendship I'll carry with me for life. Sharmila is a firm and welcoming woman, we had the best time of my stay cooking momo for a whole day. Sidharta is a bright child, very smart and full of energy. I am so grateful for all!

I loved my time at the host! Shiva and his wife Sol are amazing, welcoming and warm people. The first days I was there, Shiva gave us a walking tour of Kathmandu, which was a perfect introduction to get a better idea of the culture and traditions. Even Shiva's sons were super friendly and they make you feel immediately at home. The food was amazing and plenty! One of my favorite nights at the house, Shiva told us about traditional folk music and even played for us amazing tunes on the traditional folk flute and drums! Thank you so much to the whole family!

Shiva's family was very welcoming and kind. It was great to be able to assist to Shiva's walking tour and get to know the culture and city of Kathmandu at the same time, along with getting recommendations from them as well as the other volunteers there. You'll be fed delicious Nepali food by Sol, Shiva's wife, and get to know their two lovely sons! Would highly recommend :)

We had a wonderful experience! Shiva and Sol are two incredible hosts; we learned a lot about them alongside their children! Shiva has a great knowledge about Nepali culture, history, architecture, buddism and hinduism. He is also a great misician. Sol is a fantastic cook, she even taught us how to make traditional Nepali Momos from scratch. It was a wonderful way to experience Nepal with a local family and learn about its culture! Thank you for everything, family! Vladi & Mar

Thank you family Dhakal for making me feel at home! For me this was te perfect opportunity to live with the locals, learn from nepalese culture, try amazing food cooked by the hostess. I was traveling here for my thesis and i got many insights from the family, they even helped me with the interviews! Overal it was a great experience, they have multiple rooms so it is also possible to meet other travellers. Some insights for travelers that are plannning to come: - nepalse sleep on very hard beds haha - This stay is not in the city centre so you need to take a motor or bus to go to Thamel
