The Danielle's way of life is awesome and that place there's something magical. She has history to tell and her house is like museum. She always was willing to drive us to visiting the places and the village and she knows everything about the attractions. And my housemate there, Lourdes Zunino , made my experience much better. I feel so glad and grateful to Danielle for those days I'll miss our nights talking at the table after the dinner. Merci beaucoup pour tout tu et chez toi sont incroyables. Alerte

I absolutely enjoyed our dinners together and the interesting conversations. We also got to explore some of the history in the area, that was exciting. You will need to be prepared to live close to nature and get your hands dirty. Task varies depending on seasons and needs.

A delightful first Worldpacker experience! Danielle is such a precious person to come across one's life! She is inspiring, caring and a magnificent cook! Her house looks like it's straight out of the Howl's Moving Castle anime movie,so be sure you will have a unique experience living there. Surrounded by the forest, you'll have to complete various tasks, depending on what is the priority at the time, and sometimes it can be physical demanding, but mostly it's about simple tasks. Also, Danielle knows a lot about the historical context of the area and she proved to be an excellent guide! Merci Dlle!!

It really went beyond my expectations in Pechlafière. If you love natural places among the trees and wild animals, if you have green thumbs, then you will live a one off experience there. If you speak at least a little of french language, it will be a plus to connect with the culture of this interesting and ancient territory full of hidden castles. My best regards.

My volunteer experience with Danielle at the farm was fantastic. From the warm welcome by Danielle, Iago, and the other volunteers to the smooth communication with Django, everything was perfect. Highlights included exploring historical sites, the Dordogne River tour, walking tours with Iago, and enjoying the riverside bar with live music. The meals were exquisite, almost like dining in a high-end restaurant. I learned a lot about farm care and had a truly memorable time. Highly recommended!

A great experience. Danielle and Jago are extremely knowledgeable and generous. There's plenty to do in the area - including archeological and historic sites - Danielle knows them inside out. I've never seen so many castles! There's lots of work to do on the property, and while none of the work is particularly difficult, it can require patience and focus. You will learn new ways of doing things, so keep an open mind! If there were ever miscommunications, they didn't take away from the positive energy of the work, as it's a pretty relaxed work environment. Also, the food was always delicious!

The experience was very good, I couldn't have found a better option for my first volunteering. I really had a great experience, I met fantastic people, beautiful and incredible places, I made friends and learned a lot. I'm sure I'll carry this experience with me for the rest of my life. My only problem was communication, if I had been a little better at English, perhaps the experience would have been even better, but that didn't hurt, they were very patient and we managed to communicate well. Danielle and Iago are incredible people who I loved meeting. I wish them all the luck in the world.

Wonderfull experience. Danielle, Django and Jago are real and passionate people. I think Danielle's stories about her beloved Africa, our chats in french and the music, a constant companion of our days together. The sites of interest in this wonderful region always allow for exiting and new discoveries, ranging from prehistory to the Middle Ages, and Danielle will be delighted to show and tell you interesting facts. Working hours are well defined and respected. The jobs are varied, non difficult. Food is the great protagonist of this experience. So many emotions and so few lines t des. them.

The work was good and so were the outings, but the hygiene in the kitchen could be greatly improved. The hot water administration seemed insufficient to me.

Regarding the house standing as mentioned in the profile it is a country-side old rustic farmhouse. As for the hot water, the house is heated (air and water) by a wood boiler and/or thermic solar panels. There are rare occasions during the year when the boiler is off and there is no sun for a few days running (as it was during that week) and so it takes 6 to 8 hours to re-start the boiler and get the water storage ballon heated up. I understand that it can be, at times, less flexible then other places but i am always happy to cater for visitor's needs. Finally, I should indicate that the agreed stay calendar was not completed due to persistent health constraint (back pain) and so the experience was cut short. I hope the issues are now resolved.
