Good experience in the hostel! Great hosts and a cool hostel to stay and meet new people from all over the world and to get to know the city! It's in a great location and the facilities make the hostel a good place to stay :) The duties are easy and enjoyable!

My experience in the hostel was overall positive, with some things to improve. Pros: - the hostel creates a great social vibe for all - showers / kitchen facilities - practicing Spanish - manager is open to feedback and communicative To improve: - reduce work hours / responsibility. The beds are 9 euros a night n guests also get free breakfast. Working 30 hours a week (more when you do lucha libre), and often being alone on shift to deal with issues, felt like a lot. - more training and clarity (especially with activities) and more supportive of mistakes. All in all thank you to this team 😊

The hostel was my first volunteering experience and it couldn't have been better. I'm very grateful for the experience and the friends I made! After extending 2 times the hostel felt like a home to me in the end. The work itself was nice. There were shifts for the reception and the bar. I felt responsible for the place and enjoyed helping out if the guests had questions. Thank you for having me and for choosing these great volunteers that have been part of the team during my time! Lots of love Lina x

Volunteering at the hostel was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, I feel like part of the team from the very beginning. The tasks were as discussed and pretty chill which allowed for a lot of time to connect with guests and explore Oaxaca . There is a real sense of community, the hostel is a hub for meeting people. I had the pleasure of interacting with guests and other volunteers from different cultures and backgrounds. The staff were also incredibly supportive and kind. I would happily volunteer here again if the opportunity arises.

I had a great time volunteering at the hostel, it's a super social hostel and I met lots of amazing people here. The jobs are straightforward and fairly chill but be prepared for a lot of socializing. It was a great location in the city and I was able to explore so much of Oaxaca in my time here

I've had a great time working at the hostel! Reasonable hours and straightforward work, communicative management team, and a great bunch of volunteers. The hostel and volunteer dorm are very comfortable and very close to the centre of town so ideal for exploring oaxaca on days off. A good deal with what you get as a volunteer vs how much work you do. Recommend more for sociable volunteers as it's a small hostel so you end up hanging out with the guests pretty much all of the time. Not really suited to non-English speakers as the vast majority of guests speak more English than Spanish.

My experience in the hostel was amazing. Laurens, Eduardo, Flor, Mari, Raquel and all the volunteers are so lovely. Since the first moment I felt at home. The beds are the most comfortable I've ever seen in a hostel and the hostel is super clean. Bathrooms kitchen and floors are cleaned more than 3 times a day! The work at reception and bar is really chill and a lot of fun. I really recommend everyone to stay here and enjoy at least a month in beautiful Oaxaca!!! Thank you Laurens for all the cooperation, the spontaneous possibility of volunteering and for extending my stay here to 5weeks.

The hostel sets the bar high for volunteer experiences! Laurens, the owner, really cares about the well being and happiness of both the volunteers and the guests so it's a very positive environment. Eduardo and all the locals who work here are lovely to be around, I will definitely miss this place <3

I had a great time, the team really is a family. The manager Rebecca makes a great job and really cares. Never had such funny team meetings. Doing activities on your own was a little challenging but also a experience where I really growed with. I also enjoyed learning to work at the bar.

I loved my stay at the hostel! The work exchange is really good for what you get. I usually worked six days a week but one of them is usually an activity which is super fun so its not really work. The reception and bar shifts are super simple as well and only five hours. Only downside is the dorms are probably the hottest I've ever stayed in🫠I would do it again in a heartbeat though. I truly love Oaxaca and am so grateful for the experience🫶🫶
