This was the first hostel I have worked at and it was the most amazing experience. I have made life long friends, learnt about Oaxacan culture and built on my hospitality skills. If you want set days off you can request them and if you feel more comfortable working on bar than reception then Yoka will take that into account. The beds are super comfortable and the guests were great. I met the owners during my stay who are also very lovely and cool.

This was my first volunteer experience and I wouldn't change a thing! The host was clear and direct with what was expected of me and went above and beyond for my experience. I've created memories and friendships I will never forget. Thank you for everything the hostel!! See you again some day☺️

The atmosphere is super social and creative I felt part of a family from day one. I helped behind the bar, made cocktails, and connected with amazing travelers from around the world. The staff are welcoming, the events are always fun, and the rooftop is the perfect spot to relax after a shift. If you're thinking about volunteering in Oaxaca, the hostel is the place to be.

I can't recommend the hostel enough—I absolutely loved my time volunteering at this hostel. From the moment I arrived, I felt truly welcomed, like part of a small family. The work was fun and easy, but what really made the unforgettable experience were the amazing people. The breakfast was one of the best I've had at any hostel, and the beds—with their curtains and fans—made a huge difference for comfort and privacy. The showers had impeccable water pressure, honestly some of the best I've experienced in all of Mexico, and I've been backpacking here for six months! the hostel, you've captured my heart. ❤️

At the hostel, I had some of the happiest moments of my life, I truly felt like I had a home and a family. All the volunteers and staff were incredibly kind and attentive. The work is easygoing and not demanding, and I had plenty of free time. Communication was excellent, the atmosphere was amazing, and it's definitely a volunteer experience I would love to repeat. I'm grateful for all the friends I made during my stay, and especially to Yoka, the best manager a hostel could have.

Being a volunteer at the hostel was truly amazing! The job was easy and Laurens really cares about his employees enjoying their time in Oaxaca, not just working hard every day. I truly felt at home here and I have no complaints. It's also a great place to improve your Spanish skills and perfect for learning beginning bartending skills. I would recommend this volunteer job to anyone looking for a great social vibe (but not crazy party). I made friends for life here and I couldn't be more grateful :)

WOW! I had the best month at the hostel. Laurens, Fatma and Yoka are just the best management team, they are really appreciative towards the volunteers and always on hand if you need anything. The reception/bar job is super straight forward and easy to pick up, the five hour shifts are very relaxed, you are able to get on with your own thing so long as you are paying attention to when the guests need you! The hostel is very clean, Mary and Flor do an amazing job of keeping all the common areas tidy. The free breakfast really helps cut down on expenses too. I would 100% come back to the hostel!! 🫶

My time at the hostel was truly unforgettable! I loved bartending and creating marketing content, which let me connect with travelers and curate the vibe - social but chill af. The tours were a perfect way to explore Oaxaca, and the pool is a rare thing in Oaxaca. The bathroom facilities are the best I've seen in ANY HOSTEL. A special shoutout to Fatma, the manager, who is kind, social, funny, and always clear about expectations. The volunteer bedroom is just okay, but with everything else - that's a small trade-off. Grateful for the salsa nights, fam dinners, free breakfast and all the memories ❤️

The hostel was such an amazing experience. The location was close to Oaxaca Centro and all the volunteers, along with the cooking and cleaning staff, the manager and the owner were all so friendly and helpful. I picked up the responsibilities quickly in about 2 shifts and I met so many people from around the world who were so friendly. I also felt extremely strong and healing feminine energy during my stay here. I highly highly recommend volunteering at the hostel❤️
