Program Details
Our Animal Rescue provides compassionate care to animals that have been designed by the commercial food industry to live short, unhappy lives. helpers here learn to provide for the needs of these poor abused animals by understanding when they are in need and meeting their requirements. You will learn some basic medical procedures (you might have to give a rooster a pill!) and you will learn how to manage yourself safely around 300kg pigs and 600kg cattle, many of whom have suffered at the hands of people in the food industry before their rescue. You will learn an appreciation for these wonderful animals and will learn to spot trouble signs and when they just need a pat. You will also learn to sweep, mop, scrub and use a pitchfork like a master! 3 month helpers will receive an internship reference stating that they have been trained to handle large animals and provide basic medical care.
