I absolutely loved my stay here! I really enjoyed the work and getting to know the animals. The 30 minute walk to dayboro is worth it, with beautiful artwork everywhere you look. I was fortunate enough to be staying with some really amazing people that made my time here unforgettable. Brad is a caring and kind person who is very knowledgeable and dedicated to his work. The only problem I had was the dirty living conditions. Ants, mice, mold, and cobwebs covering the walls and ceiling. I did what I could to clean up but definitely needs a deep cleaning with more supplies then what we had.

My time at the shelter was a beautiful experience that allowed me to connect with nature and animals! You will be staying with your fellow volunteers in your own farmhouse, which the volunteers are in charge of cleaning etc. In regards to the work, its beneficial to be a fast learner, hard-working, adaptable, and efficient. Volunteering here requires you to be ready for long days with tough and dirty work, sometimes in bad weather. Lastly, its important that you're mature and ready to take on a lot of responsibility - the volunteers are even in charge of training new staff.

It was great having you on the farm Jaqueline. You were very committed to the well-being of the animals and always willing to do extra to ensure that they were well and cared for. You fitted in so very well with the group and your positive and upbeat manner was great to be around. All the best for your future opportunities, stay in touch!

This was an incredible experience and I couldn't recommend it enough! The work is physically and mentally challenging, there's lots to learn and sometimes can be stressful, but it was so rewarding. Brad really cares about all the animals, and it's so nice to see how happy and free they are. I also met some amazing volunteers, and really enjoyed spending our evenings together in the accommodation. This is a truly special place for both animals and the shelter lovers.

I had the best time at the sanctuary and I was really sad that I had to leave after three months of staying there. Brad really gives those animals an amazing life and does everything in his power to make their lives incredible. The days can be long and exhausting but seeing the animals happy makes it worth it every single day. I learnt a lot about the life farm animals usually get to live and I also got to be there for all sorts of medical treatment. The animals and the volounteers will always have a special place in my heart and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in animals!

I've had a great time at the shelter. The work is hard but rewarding and you have a chance to really connect with animals you're taking care of and with people you're doing it with. Staying all together in the bungalow felt like home and as if we'd created a small family for the time being. Getting to know stories of all the animals but also the reality of food industry was heart crushing at times but I'm glad I could experience it and create new values for my life. Brad is a truly amazing person, and I'm glad I could be a part of making a change under his wings.

I had such a great time here! Everyone I met was so lovely and I learned a lot from working with them. The small number of volunteers means that you can become really close with people in no time! It was hard to say goodbye! Working with the animals was super rewarding and I can see why volunteers here often extend their stay! The farm is such a nice place to escape to, and the nearby town is easily accessible so you don't feel isolated at all. The volunteer bungalow was cozy and well maintained. I already miss waking up to a yard filled with chickens and goats!

This is a very special place, and perfect if you truly want to immerse yourself in rural farm life. Know that the work days are long and require physical and mental strength, as well as high levels of responsibility and environmental awareness. I will never forget the amazing animals here, and I feel as though I made genuine contributions to their wellbeing, and I met and bonded with other wonderful volunteers. Thank you, Brad, for all that you do and for this experience!! <3

My experience as a volunteer was really enriching. The work is hard and you get dirty, but at the end of the day it feels rewarding. The work days are long but with breaks during the day. Despite not speaking much English, it was not a problem to do the tasks and interact with the group. It was an incredible time. Each the shelter is special and important. It was nice to be able to contribute to their having a long and better life. I am taking a nice experience back to Chile. Thank you Brad for what you do, it is truly admirable.

Amazing the shelter sanctuary! For those of you that have always wanted to experience working in a farm, but bend towards veganism, sustainability, or making an impact, this is the place. That said, one must also be a bit strong and know english (as farms depend on physical work and you will be trained by colleagues). And also ready to live close to animals and insects, specially being located in Australia ;) Brad is a really nice host and the place is amazing, specially getting to know the animals and care for them, and having a swim at the pool with views in summer 😍

The farmstay was a great experience and we absolutely enjoyed being part of the shelter sanctuary! We really appreciate Brad's engagement and his passion for all the animals and what he's doing. You get a lot of responsibility and take care of the animals and the farm with the other volunteers who are training you. It is definitely hard work but also rewarding and meaningful. Also you get cozy evenings together with the other volunteers.
