Compared to other hostels I've been, the hostel is quite big and the vibe is not too familiar, at least in the beginning. There's one staff room for 10 volunteers and it did take some days until I met and spoke to everyone. I would not recommend going there if you can't stand smoking as people do it a lot and therefore I mostly tried to avoid the nice garden, especially sat by myself when having breakfast... A few times per week family dinners are offered which is nice because it's free for volunteers. The new manager Alessia is a sweetheart and very organized :)

I had the best summer of my life in this place. The hostel it's okay, there are some points that need improvement but I believe they are working on it. Furthermore the people really make the place. There are volunteers for all around the world and we are always planning something to do in a group. I was working in the construction team and for me the job was hard. I had to carry a lot of weight and work at heights a few times, for example sanding the ceiling. But all that hard work is worth it I really liked this place and I recommend you go if you have the chance !!! πŸͺ³πŸͺ‚❀️

I had a great month working at the hostel. The group of volunteers was open minded, sociable and very fun. Try manager was Manu, and he was friendly, organized, gave us local tips and made sure work was fun. The other managers also gave this impression. While I believe the organization could be improved for welcoming the new volunteers (often there was confusion as to what team you'd be on/ no managers there to welcome you, just other volunteers), it was a small issue and overall organization was very good. Meeting locals was easy as the hostel volunteers are always included in local events.

Had such a fun time at the hostel would definitely recommend. The other volunteers were what made the experience and apartment manager Manu.

I can recommend this host to everyone, who is looking for a unforgettable volunteer experience. The volunteers, managers and the owners are really nice persons, who will always try to make it a convenient and nice stay for you. The tasks are easy and fair. The hostel is nice, cozy and very spacious so you can have your privacy. I really enjoyed my stay and I can just recommend it to everyone :)

I was part of the apartments team. The work was manageable and the hours fair, so I had enough free time to explore Gran Canaria. The managers were always open and flexible and tried to make it a good experience for the volunteers. There are some organizational things, which could be improved (for example that the schedule for the next week usually only gets published on Sunday evening makes it a bit hard for planning). All in all, I had a good time here and can recommend coming here :)

I spent an amazing month in sunny Gran Canaria & would definitely recommend this experience as I got to see the entire island during my stay, get into surfing and most importantly make friends for life!🫢🏼🌊 However the hostel itself could definitely be improved in a few areas. The work itself is definitely manageable but not to be underestimated as some shifts were quite stressful. Otherwise, the organisation needs to be improved as we weren't always able to reach the managers when we had to. Nevertheless I'd 100% recommend taking this opportunity to experience the canarian island life! 🌞

I would not recommend it as an experience, the place is run only by volunteers and is very unorganized. Things promised were not respected, some tasks were not among those agreed and since I was traveling in pairs we were not given free time together. In my opinion, the workload was too much compared to what they offer, that is, a bed in a dormitory and no food.

The experience was okay for me but only because of the people I met there. I came as a couple with my friend and we both were in the hostel team. The only people working there are volunteers, they don't have normal staff. The volunteers run the whole hostel, they clean apartments outside the hostel and they do construction. In the end we were 2 people in the hostel team always on different shifts, no freetime together. You don't feel safe, there were no locks at the doors, so one night a guy wanted to rob us and we had issues with people stealing food. You work way too much for what you get.

I had a wonderful time at the hostel - the other volunteers were amazing and we all had a great time. I was on the apartments team and Manu was a lovely manager - always friendly, kind and helpful with tasks. One thing i would note to those planning to stay here is the hostel sometimes felt quite unsafe - no locks on dorm rooms so anyone could come in & there were some crazy guests staying while we were there. Something to note for the management team - it did feel like we were giving more than we were getting out of the experience. Free meals etc wouldve made it more fair.
