Had a really nice time volunteering here with the reserve. All the staff were super welcoming, and the volunteering experience itself was very organised!! Completely different experience, met some really great people and would recommend to anyone :)

I arrived during the rainy season. Camp is remote, being well-equipped was key, I recommend reading the volunteer manual carefully to prepare. Camp life was vibrant, with workshops, language lessons, games, and communal music-filled evenings. Patrols were unforgettable: I saw turtles nesting, hatchlings emerging, and even a tapir on my last day. The biodiversity was stunning, with countless species to discover. It takes time to adapt, so I agree with a min 3-week stay, and I would have loved to extend mine if could! Thx to the camp coordinators and all the group for this enriching experience!!

I spent three unforgettable weeks at the reserve, and my only regret is that I didn't stay longer! The experience was truly magical. I loved every single second of my stay. I had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful and kind people. The entire team—staff, researchers, and volunteers—are deeply dedicated to this project. While beach patrolling and data collection were central to our work, we also enjoyed a variety of additional activities like jungle walks and plastic workshops. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I would absolutely do it again and highly recommend! Miss you guys💗

I really enjoyed my time in the reserve! The accommodation is really nice and cute (except for the WiFi), the activities are fun and the people are amazing :) The only thing that I was confused about was that I felt more like I was being entertained than that I really helped and volunteered but for the rest it was great

I am so beyond grateful I got to experience this amazing opportunity. In 2 weeks I have made countless lifelong memories, learned so much, and created connections to last a lifetime ❤️ incredible people, incredible place, incredible opportunities. Mariposa camp you have my heart. If you want to experience being fully immersed in nature while helping save the ocean and be surrounded by great people, I couldn't recommend this experience more.

I don't have enough words to describe how incredible the reserve is. I worked here as a volunteer for 3 weeks, but I wish I stayed for longer. In these 3 weeks, I got to work with sea turtles on night patrols, observe hatchlings as they travel from their nests to the sea, transform trash from the beach into home-wear, and take in so much knowledge from all the talented Research Assistants on camp! All the people working on site are amazing. I'm gonna miss you so much, all of you ❤️❤️❤️ thank you so much for this experience!

I spent 2 weeks, and it was a great experience! There were some changes to the program due to flooding, but the host managed to adapt and find activities to keep us occupied. The food was very good, but we ate very little meat, so make sure to bring some snacks because there are no shops or stores nearby. Come only if you truly enjoy nature and are okay with staying in a remote area for some time, as there are no activities to do in the surroundings. So yes, I recommend this experience, but only if you're comfortable being completely away from the city.

This has been one of the most impactful adventures I've ever had. It's a simple life with absolutely no creature comforts and that may not be for everyone but it was perfect for me! Stepping into the center of an incredible jungle and working hard with like minded people was exactly what I wanted and needed. Every person here was so warm and welcoming and absolutely hilarious. I'm very sad to leave but I know I have to come back again! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to help make an impact in the world.
