My experience at the project in Ulverston was a very rewarding experience where I was able to learn about modern Buddhism, something that was totally unknown to me. The surroundings are very beautiful, the monks and nuns are very kind. We even went out a couple of times to do meditations in nearby villages. There is a temple where you can do the project classes. Here you will eat vegan food and in my case I worked in a cafeteria where I was able to work as a barista and other functions, I met new friends from all over the world that I will always carry in my heart. Thank you the project, I r

It was a great experience, it can be summed up in a lot of food, that was pure happiness for me 🤩 I was in the Art Studio department 🎨 the managers are beautiful people, especially Lupe, I loved it 🎖️ beautiful everywhere and the other people who are in the Art Studio too, they comply with the schedules and with the food 🥗 you are far from the town but the other volunteers make this place beautiful, I will upload the videos to my Instagram so you can see how great it was @yamelinkbb 🤗 simply Thank you the project.

It was my first experience outside Brazil as a volunteer and I was impressed by the beauty, efficiency and sense of community of the place. I met people from all over the world and worked in various areas, with great managers, from the logistics process to as a barista. I learned, played, explored the city and if I can I will come back more often. Long live the project!

This was an amazing experience! If you are looking for a place to be in touch with nature, learn a bit more about buddhism, connect with people from all around the world, enjoy vegetarian food and like to walk, this is the place for you :) Something to know before you go is that schedules are fixed between 9 am and 5 pm, so it takes a lot of the day but you have 2 days off every week. I enjoyed my stay and meeting residents and volunteers :)

I had an incredible experience. Perfect place for those who want to learn and do the project, connect with nature and people from all over the world and delicious vegetarian food! It was a privilege for me to be able to have this opportunity to live in a castle and do my meditations in a beautiful temple! Thank you very much and I can't wait for my next visit!

I felt so welcomed as soon as I've arrived. The place is beautiful, well organized, and the people work all together with a sense of community and respect. It was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone who's looking to break out of the Matrix from time to time

It was my the first volunteering experience by Worldpackers. This a temple with a stunning architecture and located nearby such an outstanding town named Ulverston. There is no way to be hungry because there are meals for 3 times a day( Meanwhile, they are usually very healthy). There is a stunning, comfy room that is only for volunteers! People are so nice, kind and friendly. It was the first Turkish volunteer ever in the temple ( as far as I know) but I always felt so welcomed and I felt like “home away from home”. Because home is not a place, home is a feeling. 🙂

The project Center was an amazing place for volunteering! The environment is very peaceful, the residents and hosts are friendly and there is a diversity of different jobs. I got the chance to work in the art studio and helped to create buddhist statues. There are a lot of volunteers so you have the chance to make a lot of new friends. Everyday there are free meditations offered and each week courses you can attend to learn more about the project buddhism. The center is also close to the sea which is nice for walks. I am definitly looking forward to come back! :)

I had a wonderful stay at the project center. The food is excellent, the bedding is very good and the people are caring. The work I did is quite simple, I was cleaning. It is a very beautiful adventure with very beautiful encounters. If I manage to improve my English in terms of comprehension, I will go back.

This was a truly amazing experience! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and a part of a community. I've met so many amazing friends here. Work hours are as stated and most of the work is very chill. I worked in the cafe which was definitely a lot work but rewarding! You sleep in dorm rooms and everyone was respectful. The food was delicious (most of the time lol). It's definitely helpful to buy some snacks to keep around for filler between meals, especially on weekends.
