The experience

Our farm is in the mountain in the Arctic. Amazing nature, quiet and remote. Take care of the 9 horses, 5 samoyed dogs and 3 volpino dogs.
Us: Family of 3.
The place: Northern lights, midnight sun, hiking in the mountain. Close to Lofoten and Tromsoe. 35 min from Narvik. Own appartment for volunteers

Only for HORSE people or HANDY people. Some cool projects restoring old houses, a sami lavvo and building an indoor riding arena.


What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Arts: Help with painting, graffiti, sculpting or drawing.

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.


What you get

1 day off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Fluent English

Between 18 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

European Union Passport

United States visa or citizenship

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

Mostly takeing care of the horses and dogs. The airbnb. Also handy work, painting, restoring houses etc.


Activities & Shift

Horses and dogs out at 8, clean stable, fix food etc. Other work. Then horses in at around 8 in the evening.
Shift for weekend work.

Riding the horses are outside the regular work hours. I you are a good rider you can ride our horses :)


Rules

-at least 32 h a week. Varies a little depending on if we have to continue longer some days. Shorter other days.
- no drugs, good mental health is
- you have to be sporty and able to work hard. In the Arctic. Life can be hard, especially when the weather conditions are harsh
- no smoking inside the house
-you have to be a clean person to be here, messy does not work for us.
-being able to take instructions and also understand English so we can explain you things
- no dogs can be brought here
-be able to live in simple conditions. --You will get your own room, keep the common spaces clean and tidy
-follow our times
-food included: only regular food. Other food, special food, smoking, candy, alcohol etc you have to buy yourself.
- volunteers are usually 2. So you make food together. Sometimes we make food together
-be selfdependent, cope with Arctic conditions and other people
