I spent one month at this farm during the winter, and it was truly an amazing experience. I learned a lot about horses and about life in the farm. Sissel was very kind and caring toward her volunteers. We shared many nice conversations. I was also very lucky to witness the Northern Lights several times. the farm Holtas Farm is a really special place. I truly enjoyed my time here and can highly recommend this experience to the wroldpackers community. I would like to thank Sissel for giving me this opportunity to experience the farm life 🫶

I spent 6 wonderful weeks at the farm with horses and dogs, and I truly enjoyed every moment. From the first day, I felt like home. Sissel is incredibly kind, warm, and always in a good mood – her positivity made every day brighter. We had free time to explore the surroundings, and we could even borrow a car, which allowed us to see a lot of beautiful places in the area. I'm so grateful to Sissel and her lovely family for making me feel welcome and part of their home. A big thank you also to Lara, who was with me at the farm for 4 weeks – we shared many great memories together.

My experience here could not have been any better! Sissel is such a funny, interesting and kind person and a super caring host. I felt taken care of at all times! The farm itself is great as well, I fell in love with the very sweet horses and dogs as well as the nature around it. It's a very peaceful place yet there's lots of outdoor activities as well- hiking and swimming especially. We even got to explore the area further around which I'm so grateful for!! The work can be hard, but it was always managable and a fair amount. Overall, 100% recommend and wish I could've stayed longer! :)

My stay with Sissel was unforgettable! I had the opportunity to spend a month with her, experiencing her unique way of living and working with her wonderful horses and dogs. Her deep connection to the animals and the land was truly inspiring. Sissel creates a warm and inviting atmosphere where you feel immediately welcome. Working with the animals was fulfilling and educational. The surrounding unspoiled nature added an extra layer of peace and beauty to the experience. I'm very grateful for the time spent with her and highly recommend her as a host!

Volunteering with Sissel was a fantastic experience! She is kind and welcoming, and her animals are adorable, I could have cuddled them all day. The work was manageable, especially as a pair, leaving plenty of free time for hiking, riding, or just relaxing. Sissel even let us visit Tromsø for a weekend, which was amazing — thank you again! The location is stunning, surrounded by mountains, offering peace and quiet. It's also the perfect spot to witness the magical northern lights. I highly recommend this opportunity for anyone who loves nature and animals. Hope to visit again in Summer!

This was my first volunteer experience with Worldpackers and I really enjoyed it! Sissel and all her animals are amazing, I loved them! Especially the dogs and foals were so cute! The actual work isn't that much, yes, it can be a little challenging, especially in winter when it's cold, snowy and dark, but that's what I expected! Learning more about living and running a stable in the farm was very interesting. The nature there is stunning and a perfect place for seeing the Northern Lights :) A unique experience and good for taking off some time of the hectic life! Thank you Sissel♡

WOW, an amazing experience hosted by amazing people in the most beautiful place. I had a wonderful time volunteering at the farm. The work environment was encouraging, and I felt truly appreciated for my contributions. I would highly recommend volunteering here to anyone looking to take a step back from their day to day life where you can learn new skills, meet new people and really immerse yourself in what the area has to offer. If you're looking for a volunteer position that offers meaningful work, this is a great option. Lastly shout out to Sissel the host, she is amazing.

My experience at the farm Farmhouse was wonderful. Sissel shows incredible love for animals, caring for them with dedication and respect. I loved Adelina, a sweet mare, and enjoyed the company of a friendly kitten and the beautiful Samoyeds and Italian Volpinos. The farm's atmosphere is special, and the attention from Sissel and her family makes it even better. Plus, the daily Northern Lights are a unique spectacle. It's the perfect place to connect with nature, animals, and kind people. An unforgettable experience!
