The experience here has been great. Everything is exactly as described in the advert. The hostel is well equipped and extremely well located. I met Joep a few days after we arrived and the first thing he asked was if we were OK and if we had everything we needed to be OK. I really appreciated Joep's concern. Erik, the manager, is a very good vibe and runs the hostel very well. He dedicates a lot of his time to the volunteers. Junior, the substitute manager, is very friendly and looks after the hostel as if it were his home. Nothing could be better. I wish I could come back again in the future

I had a blast in Barbarosa hostel, the place has a very good location in downtown to get to visit the city. The working hours are respected and the work is easy to do. Eventough Joep is not always there he is always aware if the volunteers need something and Eric is a great team leader, always laughing, cheering up everyone and you can always count on him for any doubt. The other volunteers made the experience much better and Joep has the great idea to made us cook once for the whole team, something from our country so we shared partof our culture to the whole team. Thank you very much Joep🙌

This was a wonderful experience that allowed me to meet people that will now forever be in my life. Joep is attentive and understanding to our needs, Erick is great company and an amazing leader/friend to have. Overall the hostel became my home for almost 3 months. Thank you!

My experience in this hostel was really great! In addition to the incredible encounters made within the hotel, it is ideally located in the city center in a nice city. The work is not too hard to understand and complete and leaves enough time for the sides. Joep and especially Eric the manager are really on top and there for the slightest problem. You can really feel at home there!

This was my first volunteer experience and overall I had a great time! The hostel is conveniently located near the city center and a river beach to swim in. There was definitely a lot of work everyday but having three days off was plenty of time to explore the city or travel. I would recommend adding more volunteers to split up the work better but other than that I'm happy I had my first worldpackers experience at the hostel. :)

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel! The town of Nijmegen was very cute and a great place to explore (really enjoyed the sunny days by the river) & got close with the other volunteers. Junior & Erik were great hosts and were very welcoming and helpful. I will say this is quite a bit of work in comparison to my other Worldpackers experiences as most of the staff is comprised of volunteers. However, it is balanced with the three days off and it allows you to take short trips to surrounding areas. Would recommend coming in July for the 7 day festival!

It was a very good experience, it is a city in the interior of the Netherlands that has very good infrastructure. I worked as a night shift, the hours were a bit busy and I couldn't enjoy the city on the weekends. However, the flexibility allowed me to work remotely for another job despite the internet not being very good. Another point of attention was that there was a lot of Brazilian language, which hindered my plan to practice English a little.

Thank you for you feedback Igor.

We are surprised by your remark about the internet, since we have the fastest connection available. We will get them to come by and check it.

We agree with the language feedback and will make sure to keep a better mix in the future.

Thanks again for your help Igor!

I really enjoyed the experience at this hostel. The structure is great, well located, you can have contact with the owner and resolve any problems you have directly with him, if necessary. Tasks are detailed in the Trello app so you know everything that needs to be done. The breakfast is plentiful, we send a list of what we need and the owner buys everything except meats like ham. The hostel has two floors, 13 rooms, 4 toilettes and 5 showers so there is a lot to clean and cleaning is taken seriously. The city is a little expensive, especially public transport, so be prepared

It was my first experience and I just have to thank Joep and Barbarosa for giving me the opportunity to get to know a new country, connect me to a new culture and people. Joep is always attentive and does everything to keep us well and always open to suggestions, the hostel is super well located and comfortable.

I spent one of the best months of my life there, making new friends and exploring the city. Nijmegen is a really nice city where you can do everything by bike. The job was easy to learn, and the schedule was always respected. Joep and the new manager, Erick, are really good people who are constantly worried about how we are feeling and want the volunteers to have the best experience. They were flexible with all my requests to change days off and dates, allowing me and my girlfriend to travel around. In summary, I highly recommend the hostel after I had the best times there! =D
