Sophie and her family welcomed me with open arms into their home and their lives, and I couldn't be more grateful for that ❤️. About my time in the project, not only did I get to work in various projects , but also learnt to take care of different plants, get my hands on the earth and experience a new lifestyle. The schedule is flexible and there's lots of things for you to do! I felt safe, happy and truly blessed to be there. Sophie and her whole family makes you feel taken care of and you can see that it is genuine. Thank you so much for everything!! It's been amazing! 🤍

My experience in Sophie's house was lovely. I got to meet her family, their friends and even their band! They are a special family, living in a special town and at the same time everything is as real as it can get. While being there I met also other volunteers from different countries so the experience was very culturally rich and fun. I felt like at home, free to cook whatever I wanted, to manage my hours and build my own routine. The work to do depends sometimes on the weather and on the stage of the veggies and different projects going on.

Julian - we loved your visit and we really hope to meet you again some day! I forgot to say how much we appreciated your willingness to be flexible sometimes - we also love to be flexible with your needs and it is special when we can all go beyond a purely transactional experience:-) We love to build trust and a sense of community with our visitors as it then feels like we become a real part of each other's lives - if only for a short time...
Thank you and we wish you More wonderful Adventures! 🙏😍

The experience at the project were simply the best possible. It was my first time volunteering for WP and I really loved it. Sophie and her family welcomed us with love and goodwill. There were also other volunteers with whom we quickly formed a strong and friendly connection. Sophie is very flexible with tasks and schedules. We had great communication, and everything was very clear. We were able to use the kitchen and there were many delicious meals. It was a great time to practice English and learn a lot about using gardening tools.

What a wonderful time with Sophie and her family! This was my first Worldpackers experience and I could have not asked for a better one! They were very accommodating and made me feel like a part of their family. The work was mostly working on their plots of land, tending the garden and landscaping. The town of Glastonbury is a very spiritual one! I enjoyed learning about it and the history as well as exploring. Met other volunteers and we all created an amazing friend group. All in all, I highly recommend the project whether its your first time or you're a seasoned volunteer.

I should have included some of the many jobs that Ethan did while he was with us (only 11 days) - clearing large patches of nettles, levelling and landscaping an area of our garden, moving endless wheelbarrows of sand and stone, managing a huge bonfire over several days, helping to construct some concrete steps as well as great stints in the kitchen - washing up, drying up and making communal meals! An all rounder for sure!

I have no words to describe my experience in this beautiful place with these amazing people. Working in the garden, helping to build this space in a variety of ways, in good company and with a spectacular view was an experience that I will take with me forever. Sophie and her family are welcoming and transmit joy and good energy. The job is flexible and revolves around gardening and building, there's so much to do! Sophie committed to everything we agreed. I enjoyed it so much that I hope I can come back as soon as possible!

Wow wow wow. What a blessing it was to be with this beautiful family. I am so grateful for the time I've spent here. I felt I was home. The hours are very flexible and done on a trust basis. Most work was either tending to their garden or chores around the house. In such a beautiful location in beautiful Glastonbury. I can't recommend this stay enough. I had my own space and room which was really great. So so much love for you guys and I will be back Soph :)

Sophie and Sally were very welcoming and kind, as were their other family members who were in and out while I was there. Busy and boisterous household, beautiful land and views of the valley, and a bus stop and small grocery store right across the street. Cats were cute and friendly. Tasks were mostly straightforward. Had my own room, shared the bathroom with rest of house, and was free to use their kitchen and pantry.

Bridget was happy to get stuck in to gardening jobs while she stayed with us:-)

Thank you for visiting us Bridget! It was nice to meet you and we appreciated the help you gave us:-)
Hope you find the perfect job and we wish you a lovely Christmas and a great year ahead.

(Apologies for not writing you a review - I was quite ill just after you left and unable to attend to any admin etc)

Both Sophie and Sally were immediately welcoming, and determined to make us comfortable in their home. Sophie spent a lot of time to set us up with a great private living space, and made sure we had everything we needed. When one of us got sick the first day we were supposed to start working, they were very understanding and allowed us to take time off until we recovered. The work itself was nothing too laborious and met our expectations. Glastonbury is an eclectic little town with beautiful scenery, so if you're a fan of small towns charm and the countryside, this could be a great fit.

Hi Stephanie - I am sorry that I did not manage to write you both a review! As you know just before you both left I had to go and take care of some family things and I was there for nearly 2 weeks and completely forgot that there was a deadline to write your review....

So I will write one in my reply:-) Thank you for coming to visit us - we really appreciated the jobs and projects you undertook while you were here.... Clearing those huge piles of hedge cuttings and then keeping the bonfire going all day was no small feat and neither was the job you both did of clearing the ground and paths in readiness for laying stones.

And Sabine did a fantastic job carefully removing a year's worth of cobwebs from the entire kitchen and cleaning all the walls!

We recommend Stephanie and Sabine and feel sure they will always endeavour to bring their best wherever they land.

I know it was a bit of rocky start and getting ill is never fun away from home but hopefully you are now well on your way and having lots more great adventures!
