Help in and around the house

I spent two weeks at Pansion the inn. The landscapes were absolutely stunning, and I had plenty of free time to explore the beaches and relax. Initially, connecting with Robert at first was a bit challenging but things got better quickly, Robert was incredibly generous and has such a big heart. The tasks were simple, mainly watering plants, serving customers, polishing cutlery and glasses and making the terrace look nice. We also worked on the farm. Lyudmila, Izvieta, and Bogda, just like Robert, hold a special place in my heart. I truly enjoyed my time there. Thank you so much!

For a first volunteer experience the inn was a success. As soon as we arrived we were immediately welcomed, Robert made us feel like we were at home. In addition to being located on a small paradise island, the tasks given to us were without pressure. After spending a week there, we had the chance to get to know a bit more about croatian culture and the value of work team. We are very grateful to have been able to give a little helping hand at the inn!

We enjoyed our stay at the inn, Loviste was a peaceful small city and Robert was an amazing host. In exchange of respecting your weekly schedule of around 30h of work, you'll get a clean room, amazing exchanges of knowledge and lots of fishs and wine:) We recommend this volunteering experience for anyone who's at ease with random tasks, who's flexible and who want to bring a bit of their own at this place. Special mention also to the fulltime workers who really made this experience unique and enjoyable, Mario and the Ukrainian trio of Julia, Egor and Sergey <3

During my 2 weeks in Lovište I learned a lot! The farms are gorgeous and there are so many olive trees. Robert and Mario made my experience unforgettable! If you get the chance to go fishing with Robert, GO! The tasks weren't too difficult but were plentiful. Mine mostly consisted of helping around the farm, light cleaning, and setting the table for all meals. The work hours are very well respected and off days are flexible. I highly recommend going closest to the summer season, as there is more to do to get everything ready for guests. There are more people around and lovely sunny weather.

This was My 2nd WorldPackers Experience. It was great ! Robert the host is a hardworking man who is also very funny and someone I enjoyed spending with. Mario who is like a second host is also a great person who is really easy to get on with. Robert makes sure you always are keeping track of your hours and making sure you take your days off when you have done your correct hours. Tasks vary in difficultly - Nothing Impossible though. Igor, the chief , his food is amazing so you will be well feed as long as he is there. I was able to meet other volunteers from around the world which was great!

My experience was great! The beach is beautiful and there's so much time to connect with nature. The communication is a little hard at the beginning, learning how to do the jobs with not much help. The boss is very busy so being self-sufficient is pretty important. The kitchen staff is very kind as well. The accommodation was pretty basic but not much time is spent inside, and the food was great, fresh fish and plenty to eat. Robert was very friendly and giving once I got to know him. Tasks were pretty simple and the work time is respected. It was definitely worth it for the experience!

If you are a sensitive person I'd definitely not recommend this opportunity. The job: The tasks are basically helping in the restaurant: set the chairs and tables, cleaning garlics/onions/fishes, polishing silverware. Also sometimes we picked up figs from the trees and cleaned olive trees. The place/staff: The restaurante is a huge mess and the atmosphere in the working environment is not so healthy, which is the opposite of the village's vibe, a very calm and chill town. Some people from the staff don't speak English and also there are lots of miscommunication. The village: Awesome!

I'm not sure how to express my view on this experience without going into further details.. but as I have to be short here, I'll say that I'm grateful to have spent 2 weeks in Lovište, the place is paradisiac. The food is spectacular, thanks to Mario and Ludmila. Regarding the work itself and the living situation, I'll say that there's a lot of discrepancies. Some work hard, while others not so much. Some might be placed in a room near the restaurant and some on a far away farm with no electricity. I think having a good time there will depend on how well you can adapt to different situations

The job is entitled bartender and kitchen hand but was pretty far from what the job actually was. The owner is pretty rude to his staff. My accommodation was on a farm a while away from the guest house with no electricity, shower, hot water or door to the toilet which I shared with two others (apparently this isn't normally where they keep volunteers, but they didn't have space for us)

Dear Isla, you got a lot tasks in the restaurant, like keeping the space clean, washing glasses and making drinks and coffees. The owner is strict, when someone is not doing the job right or didn’t listen. We offered you a shared room with electricity, warm water and a shower. You wanted to sleep alone and we offered you for some nights a guest room alone and with everything you needed. Then we needed the guest room and we offered you the room alone on the farm and you accepted. We offered you a bathroom for showers. You told us you enjoyed the experience and it was so fun and you would stay longer, but your sister is crying in Split and you will go to work with her on party boats. You left us the next day and we didn’t had enough time to organise a new volunteer, that’s why the owner was not happy with your behaviour. We still wish you all the best.

I liked my time at the inn. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beach. One of the staff members taught me how to snorkel in his free time and that was an excellent experience. People working there were from Ukraine and Croatia, and some of them didn't speak English which made communication challenging. Communication was a bit of a problem during my stay, apparently, Robert (the host) only knew I was going a couple of hours before I arrived. The working schedule and tasks were very flexible.
