Even after some other volunteering experiences, I can't compare my experience at the hostel to anything I experienced before. You are part of an international and welcoming team while working in a very special environment where you focus on sociability, creating memories and true friendships. You will overtake a lot of responsibility, learn new skills and grow out of your own comfort zone. During my stay I was sick for a long time and my host adapted my schedule to it which was really helpful for my well-being. Thanks for having me and making the time so special! <3 loveeeee

I volunteered at One Fam in Barcelona in December and January 2025. Most shifts involve socializing with guests, taking them on tours, cooking, going out to the most popular clubs in BCN, and some cleaning. There was also one night shift and 2 days off per week. I was there during the holidays, and it felt like home. We had a big Christmas dinner, and for New Year's, all five One Fam hostels in Barcelona celebrated together at our hostel, later watching fireworks at Plaza España. The host respected everything we agreed on and was always there for me. Can't wait to return, at least as a guest

No words will be enough to describe my experience! I loved so much thank you so much for the opportunity Brenda and Rafa for making possible my stay in Sants. The shifts were very easy and flexible. i had fun working and exploring to be more sociable which was a challenge but i could get it.

The work is horrible, you have to work 2 times a week all night and the next day at 5pm do the shopping, cook, clean everything and make drinks games, go out partying with the guests. you literally pay to work, because they don't even give you a transport card to use on work days, you have to use your own card and pay your fare to take the guests, and in return what they give you is a bed in a deplorable apartment with no kitchen, no decent bathroom, no shower.(if you go to ramblas or battlo) paralelo has a good apartment. the most of the managers are awful, they don't give a fuck about you

I had such a wonderful time at the hostel Ramblas. Immediately when I got there I felt so welcomed by the other volunteers. I made some lifelong friends there, although I only stayed a month <3 Definitely make sure you are a party person because you go out super often(not something to be afraid of, I loved it), and make sure you can be loud because you will need to rally a lot of people when you work party shift! Cooking meals, taking people on tours, and cleaning during night shift was pretty easy. Your fellow volunteers will help you and hang out with you most party shifts too! xo I recommend!

This is a beautiful experience, where you have the opportunity to meet fantastic people every day, both other volunteers and guests. Brenda and Rafa are very friendly and they contribute to create an environment that makes you feel at home. If you are sociable people who love parties and going out, and interacting with people this is the place for you!

I had a great time as this was my first volunteering experience, I felt safe and well informed about everything from the start. I met amazing people while getting to live in a good enviroment. I got to meet new people every day which was a great opportunity for socializing but also could get quite overwhealming at times. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely recommend to people volunteering for the first time.

I stayed for 4 weeks and had such an amazing experience! It's the ideal situation for solo travellers as I was made to feel at home from the second I arrived. The hostel is very welcoming to all and encourages everyone to socialise, leaving you with connections from all over the world. It's a great opportunity to make a positive impact on guests' travel experiences as well as to form more long term bonds with the other volunteers. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys going on nights out and meeting people from all walks of life. Shout out to Sofia for running the best hostel in Barca!

I had a great time in the hostel, this is definitely not a regular hostel where people sleep for some nights and potentially get to meet other travellers. Its a place where every day is a new adventure and we, the volunteers, are active participants in event organisation. No bedsheet changing and toilet cleaning like in the normal hostel voluntary programs. The idea is that you are a motivated party person that has great public speaking skills and wants to meet incredible new people every day!
