Organic fruit farm. Sesonal work during the year

The time that I spent in the the farm was simply wonderful. Thanks to the easy atmosphere my weeks there felt like a relaxing holiday, even though the work on the fields, especialy picking cherries and plums, was a good workout. The landscape is beautiful and there is a lot to explore around the fjords. We worked 5h per day, starting early in the mornings, and I had always a lot of time for myself. If you are interested in agriculture and rural lifestyle you can definitely learn a lot here. Jan, thank you so much for sharing your home, your cats and your family life with me!

My stay at Jan Oves farm was really good. I learned a lot about fruit farming and how Norwegian locals live. If you're into hiking or know how to have fun in the nature your stay will be great. If you're more of a city-person be aware that there's not much to do around, as the next big city (Bergen) is more than two hours away. Thank you truly for having us Jan 🙏

Late reply - sorry.
Jonathan and Alex stayed here for a few weeks and joined the work in the farm. They are nice people to be around, honest and want to do a good job.

Work schedules were respected. The work can sometimes be physically demanding, especially in several tasks, such as preparing the land and removing stones, but don't panic! during your stay you will also do different tasks. I also thinned the plums, bottled and labeled juice and fed the animals. The area is perfect for hiking. The landscape and nature are amazing. Be aware that you will stay in a rural area, so public transport may scare sometimes. PS: if you really like cats this is the place 🐱 Thanks for having me, I had a pleasant stay and already missing Potato and the house's views 🥹

Jan is super chill, he respect the schedules and you have your own privacy. The place is amazing, something the work can be tough (expect to be super tired after "just" 5 hours) If you have any question, ask and dont assume anything, He is open to help always.

Great experience at Jan Ove's cider farm! I always felt comfortable, hours were respected and the volunteering work is fun. What I did was clean bottles, bottling cider, tag them and pack them for shipping. Jan is very kind and fun to be around :) Im very thankful to him for having me at his place and I recommend to everyone this experience. Specially, if you want to connect with nature, learn about cider and life on land, and get to see beautiful sights.

My experience at Jan Ove's farm was good ! I got the chance to meet really nice people (and cats) and learn how to cut grass, plant trees and even catch rabbits ahah. I had a bedroom for myself which was really nice to have some alone time. The area is really beautiful and peaceful with a lot of hikes to do ⛰️ The work was a bit physical and sometimes took longer than expected ; but the view was amazing. However, I would recommend Jan Ove to be more welcoming and talkative towards future volunteers (it can be intimidating at first) 😊 Thank you for this opportunity !

I've been to Jan Ove's for almost three weeks, at first you have to adapt but as the days go by you get used to it. The working hours were respected and I learned a lot. What I was doing: make the apple the farm, put the farm in the bottles and pack with the labels ready for delivery. It was my first experience here on WorldPackers, I recommend it especially to those who love cats!

Our experience with Jan Ove was great, the hours were respected, our room was cosy, the other volunteers were really friendly!! The work can be hard, especially with the winter weather, but you can learn a lot about the farm making process. I really like it and I totally recommend the experience :)

I loved working at Jan Ove's apple farm!! It was definitely hard work picking the farm every day, but I had a great time with my fellow volunteers who I now call my friends! Our accommodation was great and we got to try a lot of new foods. I wished I got to experience making the farm, but we were there during apple picking season so that was the main job. If you're prepared to work hard and eat yummy the farm then this is the place for you!
