Staying at Jan-Oves Farm for 2 month was really exciting. I learned a lot of new things and had an amazing time. However this place might not be good for you if you can't entertain yourself. This place is mainly nice for hiking and you can take a bus to the next city, but that might take you about 2 hours. But the nature is really beautiful and Jan Ove knows a lot of interesting storys and facts. You just need to ask him. I would recommend that place for everyone, it was really nice

I had a wonderful time at Jan's apple farm. I was warmly welcomed, and the working hours are respected. The location is surrounded by nature, so it's a bit remote from larger cities. If you love nature, this is definitely the place to be. During my stay, there wasn't much daylight, so I recommend bringing something to keep yourself entertained indoors. There are also plenty of adorable cats roaming around :))

This was my first ever volunteering as well as solo traveling experience- would have not wanted it any other way. I met the most amazing people there and we shared lots of activities like hiking or fishing out on the fjord. It's a quiet place, so you can't expect a vibrant, energetic, loud atmosphere there- but that is exactly what made the time feel special. It felt like a second home to me over time, so I would also recommend staying for longer to really get used to the tasks and the routine there. Jan himself always shared his knowledge. Thank you :) Also the cats add to the experience

Matt and I had a great time volunteering at the orchard. Jon did a great job showing us the ropes in regards to both living there as well as the volunteer work. We got the work done before lunch and had a lot of time to fish, hike, explore, and get to know the other volunteers. There was plenty of space and food for everyone to live and work comfortably.

My stay at Jan Ove's farm was incredible. The work hours were always respected, and the work itself wasn't too hard. At times it was a bit repetitive but when only working for 5h a day it's no problem. There were at least 7 other volunteers there during my stay and it made the experience even more incredible. Jan is a great host, he's very knowledgeable so don't be afraid to ask him questions. In free time there is a lot to if you like to be in nature (not much if you prefer the city). Thank you Jan this was the most amazing experience!

Had the best experience I could ever wish for. Ticked off all the boxes like hikes and seeing northern light but what made it for me is the people. I advise you to get out together and don't stay in your own bubble. There is so much you can do like fishing, going on trips and hikes to cabins etcetera. I will never forget you guys ❤️✨ For fishing ask for the boat, cast the lure and let it sink to the bottom. Give it some taps and try to feel bites. After some time reel it in at constant pace and drop it again about halfway and repeat. Go catch delicious cod, saithe and much more!

My time at Jan Ove's farm was enjoyable! Jan is always busy but really nice and easygoing. During my stay, 3 to 7 other volunteers were also staying at the farm, which made my time there even more special. Jan respects the agreed-upon working hours. However, he is sometimes out in the evening and might ask you to cook or feed the rabbits. The work can get monotonous, but it is not that bad since you will only be working 5 h a day. Overall, I had a fantastic time and would recommend the experience at Jan Ove's farm!

I had an amazing experience in Grimo during the apple-picking period, with the chance to assist in the juicing process as well. Jan Ove is very knowledgeable and always happy to share his expertise, making the experience even more enriching. The other volunteers were great company, offering new perspectives and making the stay truly enjoyable. I appreciated the well-organized work schedule, which included weekends off. The natural surroundings are stunning, and I enjoyed hiking in the area. Please feel free to ask for more details. Just a note: it may not be ideal for those who don't like cats

This has been my first experience doing a volunteer and I loved it! I've been able to meet lovely people from different parts of the world and we've created a great team. Jan is a great host, he is very friendly and funny, so don't be afraid to ask him things because he is always open to listen to you. The environment is wonderful, you are surrounded by nature and you can da lot of hikes. Working hours are respected. At times the work can be quite physical so you'll get strong. And if you love cats, this is your place!

The experience was great and I got a lot of knowledge about farming, fruits and cider. Jan is a reasonable and generous person with a big knowledge on farming, cider making and fruit picking so if you want to learn about any of those it's the place for you. The area and the views are amazing and you get to be in nature and do famous and not so famous hikes around the area, the hours of work are respected and i had a really good experience.
