Program Details
From April we start building our camp from nothing to something great! We start in the morning and work till we need a break, if there is Surf, we surf. We're not in a rush, we plan our tasks day by day.
Activities & Shift
The work you will be doing depends on the month you're with us! In May it's mainly building up wooden cabins and big tents, and bringing all the stuff in there. So you’ll be moving stuff, drilling screws, painting, tying knots, digging holes and finally the finishing touches (putting up decoration). From June-August our work is mostly housekeeping, breakfast shifts and hosting guests. And September we host our last guests and start building down the camp.
In summertime the island is busy with visitors, but in May-June it’s a quiet place. You’ll easily find yourself alone in the beautiful nature! There will be enough time to explore the island. Most of us are surfers, so if the waves are good, we’ll drop the work and paddle out!
Rules
You can reach the island by a 90 minute ferry from the mainland. Temperatures vary from the time you're here, so if you consider visiting, keep in mind it can be very cold but also nice and warm.
- Respect guest and crew on the campsite
- Keep the campsite clean
- No drugs allowed on the campsite
*Vlieland is car free so you can't bring your own van
