The experience
We organize horse riding holidays in the only national park of Portugal! 🐎🌿 We have 11 horses and 9 dogs and need your help with daily horse care, stable management, activity logistics, and small farm tasks. Our farm is in a beautiful, peaceful, and remote area, surrounded by nature. Life here is simple and rewarding.
No experience required — we teach everything! If you love animals, nature, and are proactive, we’d love to welcome you!

Animal Care:
Help look after and take care of animals.

Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Team Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details
We would like to let you know that no prior experience with horses is required to join this volunteering. What matters most is that you enjoy horses, love nature, and are willing to learn.
Please note that this role is not a local guide position, as guiding requires special training and certification.
Your help will be needed with:
-Stable management: cleaning boxes, giving hay, water, and food, and moving horses to and from the fields
-Horse care: grooming, preparing horses for rides, and keeping them fit and healthy
-Farm tasks: assisting with activity logistics or helping with repairs around the farm if needed
If you know how to ride, you may join us and the guests on rides when possible . If not, we can arrange some lessons for you! 😄
Activities & Shift
Our daily work schedule is approximately 5 hours per day, divided into morning , lunch time and evening sessions:
Morning (8:00 a.m-10:00 a.m) -Stable and horse care (cleaning boxes, feeding, grooming, preparing horses for the rides
Lunch time (13:00p.m-14:00 p.m)-Feeding the horses
Afternoon(17:00 p.m-19:00 p.m): Continuing with horse care, stable maintenance, and other farm tasks or small repairs
This schedule ensures that the horses and farm are well cared for while giving you time to enjoy the farm and nature around you.
Rules
-Commitment: You must stay for the full agreed period, except in cases of serious illness or emergency.
-Responsibility with animals: Daily care of horses and dogs is your responsibility. This includes feeding, grooming, cleaning stables, and preparing horses for rides.
-Working Hours:The daily schedule is planned for approximately 5 hours per day (morning ,lunch time and evening). Sometimes it may be a little less, and occasionally a little more if needed for special situations.
-Proactivity: Be ready to help with farm tasks, activity logistics, or small repairs whenever needed.
-Respect and teamwork: Respect your fellow volunteers, the staff, the animals, and the farm property. Teamwork is essential.
-Independence: While support is always available, volunteers are expected to be responsible, proactive, and able to make their own decisions. Being independent is an important part of the experience, helping you develop skills and confidence for real-life situations.
-No prior experience required: Experience with horses is not necessary; willingness to learn is essential.
-Meals: You are responsible for preparing your own meals; inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions.
-Remote living: Our farm is in a remote area; enjoy nature and be prepared for a simple lifestyle.
-Guiding: You will not act as a local guide; guiding requires special certification.
