My time here was truly amazing and one that I will always cherish. I was immediately welcomed by Yeilin and Shirley and felt like I was a part of their wonderful family during my time! I learned a lot about the daily tasks necessary for running the farm successfully, like taking care of the animals and working on some other projects to help develop the farm. It was very cool to develop new skills as I had never worked with farm animals or worked much with construction, and I felt comfortable and clear with what I needed to do! The food was absolutely incredible! I cannot recommend this enough!

I have nothing bad to say about my stay. Shirley and Yeilin are the kindest souls and went out of their way to make us feel at home and cared for. They cooked us delicious homemade meals and each meal was accompanied by a meaningful and engaging conversation. They truly wanted to get to know us and I felt so comfortable and loved my entire stay. The hours were as expected and the work was fun! I got a little sick and they took care of me so closely. Shirley even ended work early one day to take us into town to go to the farmers market with her. Please go! They are angels.

I loved my time here!! Shirley and Yeilin were so kind and nurturing, I felt very welcome here ❤️ I loved our shared meals and conversations, and I learned so much during my time here. I got to milk a goat for the first time and the baby goats were adorable!! The land is so peaceful and the people are amazing, I highly recommend this work exchange.

Shirley & Yeilin were the most warm & welcoming hosts. We were surprised by how deep our conversations went, just in a few days of knowing each other, but we really enjoyed our interesting and funny exchanges. The food was great, the animals lovely - especially the dog Molly :) - and we were inspired by how closely they live with nature and fight for environmental protection. It was a bit out of our comfort zone living in the basic accommodation and with a lot of mud (due to daily rain) but it contributed to an authentic experience and is just something to be prepared for.

I had so much fun at this farm! Not only were the hosts smart and ambitious but they are creative and have very open minds. I enjoy the way they work with nature, never against it. Very recommendable :)

Shirley and Yeilin were so welcoming and kind during my stay. Everyone there spoke Spanish (5 other volunteers, unusual I think!) and I am a beginner so it was really hard work understanding most of the conversations, but I I think I learned a lot. I learned about cutting and curing bamboo and prepping a field for planting passionfruit :) They were always eager to answer questions. I also hurt my ankle (outside the farm) and they were very kind and helped me with treatment and rest. Lots of chickens, refreshing cold shower, lots of mud, interesting people, healthy food… recommend!

If you have the chance of coming to the finca, do so! I had a wonderful time connecting with nature, the family and myself. Cheerly and Yeilin are amazing, warm and caring women as well as great cooks. They were very patient and helpful in helping me improve my Spanish and animated the most interesting conversations during our meals. The work itself was positively intense and very rewarding. Depending on whether other volunteers are present you'll have a lot of free time to spend with yourself or the volunteers. I definitely recommend taking books and other things to occupy yourself :)

Shirley, Yeilin, and Maria are the absolute sweetest and most welcoming hosts. I had so much fun living and working alongside them. The work is not strenuous at all and it was so awesome to learn about all of their sustainable practices. I always looked forward to each meal with them. It was a really great opportunity that I cannot recommend enough!!! Do bring lots to read (a lot of free time)!

I had an incredible time at the project. From the moment I arrived, the whole family made sure that I felt welcome and comfortable. They were very kind and patient in helping me work on my Spanish. I also learned a lot from them about permaculture from our morning work. I enjoyed afternoon walks on the road they live on. I would definitely recommend bringing gloves and a book or other activity for the afternoon. I would definitely go again!
