If you are looking for volunteering at a school in Nepal search no more. I have spent three weeks at Shamser's New Marigold school and the place was amazing. Shamser is a really inspiring person and I am glad to meet him in person. The work environment was diverse and motivated, met a lot of amazing people and learned many things from them. Working with children was fantastic and in general, it was just an easy going place to be. So don't be worried or nervous, only good hearted people there.

Volunteering in the school Academy has been great. Kids are extremely nice and respectful. It is very impressive how dedicate to learn they are. The host house is clean and well organised. Bimala (volunteers and meals responsable) is a sweet heart and she really provide a positive environment. The location is amazing, in contact with nature and locals at any time. Teaching in school was super easy since the local teachers leave me so much time and freedom. Definitely one of the best experience of my whole life!

It was an absolutely pleasure volunteering at Marigold! It was exam week during my time there so I wasn't able to help out with the kids as much as I would've liked to. However, we were still able to help out with other the school such as painting the kitchen, admin work, daily chores (dishes, watering the garden, cutting potatoes). We had an incredible group of volunteers and staying in a rural village was truly a memorable experience. I would love to come back one of these days and stay for longer. Definitely recommend this experience to future travelers. Much love :)

The experience was amazing! Shamser and Bimala were really nice hosts, in both schools I was provided with the things I needed. I even had to change my arrival and departure dates and they were really flexible about that. The tasks were diverse like helping in the kitchen, painting and playing with the kids during their break. The location the school is in an little town called Gaunsahar with an unbelivable view of the mountains and New Marigold has a really nice grounds to stay. To have some relax after a work day and really get to know Nepali cultur it's highly reccomended!

Shamser is an incredible guy with a great vision. I really enjoyed the ten weeks I spent at his schools and can say I learned a lot from the experience. The biggest problem I had during my stay was just from the expectations that I had - I think if you can let those go, it will let you fully open up to how great of an opportunity this is to live in a new place and culture and help out an awesome project. Not all of the work is glamorous or what you thought you'd be doing, and you're going to give up some comforts while in Nepal. But it's a great chance to help out something bigger than you.

Staying at Heavin the school was a wonderful and memorable experience, Shamser is a very nice host, he helped us planning our future plans, he is flexible and calm. I met many others volunteers from all over the world and I was immersed into the Nepalese culture too. The school has very cute and polite children, you can do many different activities such as helping in the kitchen, teaching, observing classes.... Thank you for all!

My second stay with the school was at New Marigold Academy. This is a new project that I could support from day one up to a month. With the owner and other volunteers, we set up the rooms and assisted in maintaining the school. It was an enriching experience, and I learned something new every day. It is perfect for new volunteers who want to participate in an organized project.

The school is one of the best experience i had. I learned a lot of things and some nepali words. I like the experienced that we taught english, play with them and make some lunch for the kids. Host was very accommodating and very organized which is very important. Second, Mr. Shamser is really committed and passionate about education for kids and helping other people. Third, the place where we stayed is so nice coz you will feel the fresh air and you will see the awesome scenery. Lastly, food is good, they serve Dal Bhat. I highly recommend the school to learn more things & meet locals.
