English teacher and helper for the hostel!
The experience
My goal for our volunteers is that they can immerse themselves in local Japanese culture, build lasting relationships, and grow their skills.
I want to build a bridge between travelers and the local community by running conversational English classes and getting our guests involved in local events.
Alongside teaching English, the work will include hostel upkeep - housekeeping, cleaning, and renovating.

Program Details
Hi there! I've traveled around the world for 9 years and been to 102 countries so far. I came back to Japan in 2018 and started a backpacker's hostel and English class for Japanese locals in my house. The house is surrounded by mountains (including Michelin 3-star Mt Takao), many small rivers, beautiful hot springs, and Sagami Lake. The river right next to my house is so beautiful! You can swim in there in the summer. Our place is an hour away from Japan's biggest downtown, Shinjuku.
Activities & Shift
I need your help maintaining the hostel and teaching English to our local students.
The work involves general housekeeping, including cleaning the rooms and the house,
renovating (if you have skills or creative ideas!) and group-based conversational English classes of all ages (you DON'T have to be from a native English-speaking country).
Work hours: 4 hours a day - housekeeping in the morning, lessons in the evening.
Rules
If you love nature, fitness training, renovating, want to immerse in Japanese local culture and love to teach English, then this is the place for you!
