100% recommended!!! the hostel = Family ❤️🏠 My first volunteering and it was unforgettable! I went with my best friend, and from day one we felt at home. The team is kind, fun, and everything flows with ease. Tasks are clear, the pool shifts are the most fun, I met people from all over 🌏 learned to make amazing 🍹. We bonded with other volunteers like sisters we're still traveling together🥹! The food, karaoke nights, tours, and good vibes made it all magical. Saying goodbye was the hardest part. I wrote a much longer review, but there's a word limit feel free to message me for the full story! ✨

Everyone at the hostel are amazing and welcoming. I felt right at home. It is a very social hostel so just be ready to have fun while you work!!! The staff is amazing and make you feel very comfortable. On your time off you can go down to the river or even go tubbing. Semuc champey and the caves are only 20 min away by Tuk Tuk. Great experience!! Would definitely do it again.

My experience at the hostel was unmatched. Everyone there made this place feel like home and I will definitely be returning. When I first took the job, I was a little apprehensive about the longer working hours but it is honestly so worth it. I couldn't recommend this place more. Bring on the Bombshells!!!!

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at the hostel for one month. Thank you all for taking such good care of me ( especially Grace, Greg and Callum )and making me feel the warmth of Guatemala—it felt just like home. I look forward to building an even deeper connection with Guatemala and Lanquín in the future. I love you all. I look forward to seeing you again, drinking Gallo together, listening to Reggaeton, and dancing together!

The hostel was one of the best months of my life. Callum was amazing and even allowed my boyfriend to volunteer for a few days, which meant a lot to me. I truly felt like I had a family away from home, everyone treated me with so much care, especially when I got sick for a few days. They made me feel safe, loved, and supported. The energy of the place is unique and the connections I built will stay with me forever. And I can't forget to mention the food... every meal was a true gastronomic experience! I'll always be grateful.

I spent 6 weeks teaching English to the staff at the hostel. I had a wonderful time during my lessons and during my downtime as well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience during my time. The staff felt like a family and worked well together. I felt welcomed and a part of the team. Even learned how to bartend! I was very sad to leave when my commitment was over. I will definitely try to find time to come back for a visit!

If I could stay longer, I would in a heartbeat. This experience allowed me to connect with incredible people, develop my own skills and have a lot of fun. Management cares about your health and safety and they go above and beyond for guests, staff and volunteers. I have to give a special thank you to Grace for her warmth and support. I spent my days teaching enthusiastic students, socializing with guests and peers and hanging out with the hostel dogs in nature. I couldn't have asked for anything better than that, and I would highly recommend you take this opportunity when you have it.

My time at the hostel was magical! The staff are WONDERFUL especially the managers Grace, Greg, and Callum, and the entire bar/restaurant staff whom I worked with the most. Everyone makes you feel like family there, and that you are really part of the team. Lanquin is fairly isolated so you have to be prepared to spend your free time/days off at/around the hostel, perfect for days of reading or other creative hobbies/working.

I had such a great time volunteering at the hostel! I was there for a month and a half teaching English to staff members. It's such a beautiful place to stay. Although it's slightly secluded I was always able to keep myself busy, but I also had plenty of time to relax in the jungle. The staff was incredibly welcoming, I made so many strong relationships with them as well as other volunteers. It's definitely a party vibe, so make sure that's something you're comfortable being around. I would absolutely recommend spending some time volunteering at the hostel!! It was instantly my home away from home :)

I had a good time at the hostel. The scenery is beautiful, I loved waking up there! We worked many hours, 6 hours 6 days a week. It can be boring sometimes or can be busy/draining, but the jobs are simple. You do all the tasks of the restaurant + bar, and may run activities like Karaoke which is fun. To enjoy this role, it's best to love being social because you constantly interact with new people in a social party environment. When not working there isn't much to do in the area so you should be a person that is comfortable with that. Relax in the jungle!
