"My experience has been unbeatable, the best place I could have arrived at in Switzerland. Doris and Mario are excellent hosts and wonderful people.I can highlight how kind and considerate they are. They helped me from the first moment, including getting to their city and making sure that everything was always pleasant and harmonious. They share their anecdotes, and beautiful travel experiences from around the world. I definitely highly recommend any traveler to come to their beautiful home.Their generosity, spectacular food (Doris is a super gourmet cook!), and kindness are remarcable🙏🏽

I had a wonderful time with Doris and Mario, P, the cat, and Doris Mother. There home is gorgeous and the most clean home I have ever visited. I learned several new things about housekeeping. How to use a Swifter and cleaning windows properly. I always love to learn something new. Doris and Mario are extremely friendly hosts and make you feel like a member of the family as soon as you meet them. Doris is a superb cook and taught me a couple of recipes that are fantastic and I will use them forever. Arbon is right on Lake Constance and so beautiful. There are lots of things to do also. My first time visiting Switzerland turned into an unforgettable memory. Staying with Doris and Mario made everything so easy and welcoming. I enjoyed every bite of the delicious local foods and treasured every moment spent here. One of the highlights was cruising around the lake on a bicycle — the scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and it was such a peaceful, joyful experience. I also tried standing paddleboarding on the lake, which was both fun and relaxing. Switzerland truly stole my heart, and I can't wait to visit again and create more beautiful memories.

I was very lucky to be welcomed by Doris and Mario and enjoy the company of their cat, Pigue, the true star of the house. The town where they live, Arbon, around the Lake Constance, is the perfect hub for accessing incredible places on short day trips by train or bus. I also made extensive use of the bicycle they lent me. Mario gave me great suggestions for outings, and Doris is such a chef, I didn't even dare cook for them. Thank you so much for welcoming me into your "the home" offering me the opportunity to experience the Swiss way of life 🇨🇭

My time with Doris & Mario was absolutely wonderful, they were so welcoming, easy-going, and a lot of fun to be around! Their home was spacious, cozy, and had charming views out every window. The location was great for easy day trips to nearby cities and even other countries. Even though my stay was relaxing, having some light tasks and responsibilities made each day feel productive. I learned about Swiss culture and cuisine in the most delightful ways. I highly recommend “the home” to anyone who wants a home away from home and an authentic Swiss immersion. Staying with Doris and Mario was an absolute delight! From the moment I arrived, they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel completely at home. I can't recommend Doris and Mario enough. This was my first Worldpackers experience so I was a little nervous, but they made me feel so comfortable and welcome right away. It really was like another home. The tasks are not complicated and very reasonable, and you can always ask questions. Doris is an AMAZING cook, I had almost zero cooking experience and she helped me learn a lot! You'll also have plenty of free time, and it's pretty easy to get to the surrounding areas, as well as explore their beautiful town. Absolutely have this experience if you can, you'll have an incredible time!

I was warmly welcomed by Doris and Mario, and from the first day I felt like in a home away from home :) The tasks are simple, and they are always willing to help! My experience with Doris and Mario was amazing. They are great hosts who want to practice English and to know people around the globe, in exchange of keeping their house tidy and taking care of their cute cat Pige. The experience of visiting Switzerland for the first time, and with them being the first people I met, will not be forgotten. I totally recommend this volunteer position if you want to immerse yourself locally in the Swiss-German side and would like company of incredible hosts. Thank you Doris and Mario!
