Program Details

We provide accommodation in our staff house. It’s a small but very cozy Portuguese house, right on the main avenue of Sagres. Super convenient location, cafés and supermarkets are just next door, so groceries and everything else are easy. It's just 6-min walking from the surf house.
The staff house is fully equipped, with a kitchen and utensils, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. You’ll be sharing the house with other colleagues/volunteers.
Breakfast is included during your volunteering experience. We always buy basic breakfast stuff like bread, eggs, oats, fruit, milk, etc, so you can prepare your own and save some money.
Lunch and dinner are on you.
Surf equipment is free to use. :)

Activities & Shift

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and helping with light repairs, building and maintenance tasks. The work includes things like painting walls, basic maintenance support, organizing spaces, and cleaning during and after renovation tasks. Housekeeping tasks might be part of the work routine, specially at the end of March, when our surf house will be open for our first surf & yoga retreats of the season.
You may also help with moving and organizing furniture, and occasionally carrying some weight, so being comfortable with physical work is important.
Any interest or basic knowledge in gardening is very welcome, as light garden maintenance around the village may also be part of the tasks.
The volunteering schedule is around 25 hours per week, with 2 days off. The workflow will be fairly flexible, especially during the renovation period, while always respecting the agreed weekly hours to ensure a fair exchange for both hosts and volunteer.
