Volunteering here was an unforgettable experience! The staff and volunteers made me feel like family, even without speaking any Italian (Especially Alessandro, Sara and Claudio). The tasks were easy, the rooftop bar was a bonus, and the hostel's central location made exploring Catania super accessible . I was lucky to be there for the Feast of Saint Agatha, truely a highlight experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a welcoming and vibrant place to volunteer in Sicily. Grazie mille!

This was my first experience as a travelling volunteer through Worldpackers, I loved my time at the hostel. The staff is very welcoming and resourceful, good vibes and funny. The first few days would be an adjustment as any new environment, do not be hesitate to ask questions or for more details on the assigned tasks during one of the work shifts. Also, plan your free days accordingly if you want to visit a town near by, talk to the other volunteers and staff if needed to maximize your free time. Remember to eat veggies and fruits! Catania will always have a place in my heart. <3

Hello, I'd like to share some honest feedback about my experience with this host, in the hope that it helps improve future stays for other travelers. Although the hours didn't exceed 25/week, night shifts were 8.5 hours long and exhausting. Meals were the same every day and were always given to guests if we were late, without considering our needs. There was no secure place to leave our belongings and no air conditioning. I felt uncomfortable with this behavior. I suggest better communication and more respect for volunteers.

We're sorry Elli left misleading feedback after staying less than two days. She was clearly and fully informed from the start about the tasks and night shifts. Meals, including fresh pasta each evening, were provided, she even had a plate saved when she arrived late. The volunteer room has A/C and secure lockers. She left on her first real shift after full training. If it was for personal reasons, as she initially said, blaming the experience is unfair. We wish her well but value honest reviews.

My time at the hostel Elephanti was an experience that had its ups and downs. It was my first Worldpackers trip and when I arrived everyone was very helpful but as time went on I noticed some issues like organization, respect of schedules, overall support, and the lack of personal connection with the other volunteers. I did meet lots of people from around the world and am very grateful for some of the experiences I have had during my time in Catania. I recommend that anyone thinking of volunteering here learns some basic Italian beforehand because it was a lot harder for me than I expected

I really recommend the hostel! This was my first volunteering experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Catania is a nice city, and it's super easy to visit beautiful nearby towns. The work is really manageable, and they're flexible with the schedule, which was a big plus. But what made this experience truly unforgettable were the people. Thank you to all the hostel team, a big thank you to Ale, Martha, and Sara. I'm also super grateful to the wonderful group of volunteers I spent my time with. All of you made Catania feel like home!

I'm incredibly thankful that I spent my first workaway experience here! I made great friends and we had super much fun living together! The hostel itself is a very social place. You have big common areas with gorgeously painted ceilings and even a rooftop bar. Apart from that I felt really welcome because everyone of the staff is super nice and understanding! The work hours are well organised and definitely doable Only the night shifts can be exhausting, but with the company of great volunteers time flies by! ;)

I really enjoyed my time in Catania! I was lucky to work with the best volunteers and every moment I spent with them was super fun :) The tasks are pretty easy and fair, exactly as agreed upon, and the schedule is well organized. If you ever need a specific day off, they're very accommodating. The staff is incredibly friendly, supportive, and always ready to help with anything you need. I'm very grateful for the experience I had and the people I met there :)

The team at the hostel are so so lovely, really fun, nice people who always try to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The hostel is in an amazing building right in the centre of town. It's kept very clean and there are great facilities to use, including a great kitchen and free laundry. Your hours are always respected, and the majority of your work is taking the night shift from midnight to 8:30am. Other work you do is preparing the pasta for guests, serving breakfast, and emptying bins/air con water tanks. It would be nice if more activities or social time was planned for the volunteers.
