The experience

25 hours per week with 2 days off per week. Food preparation, housekeeping, gardening. Participate in daily activities such as yoga, meditation for reflection and spiritual development. Bake delicious cakes and make chai from fresh spices each week. Live and learn amongst a monastic community. Code of Conduct including no drugs or alcohol.

Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Get free drinks or beverages.: Drink up! Get free and tasty drinks for yourself.

Free Events: Get free entrance for the best events in town.

Yoga classes: Take free yoga classes at our place.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Work exchange Live-in volunteers offer 25 hours per week in the Cafe, housekeeping , gardening in exchange for a single room in a share house, utilities and some meals. Access to Buddhist teachings, yoga, meditation classes and offering service to the centre.


Activities & Shift

Cleaning rooms, laundry (on-site machines), food preparation, baking and gardening. Opportunity to learn about Tibetan traditional art and work with Holy objects. Time for yoga, meditation and self reflection in a tranquil Australian rainforest environment.


Rules

Code of Conduct: no killing, no stealing, no lying, no sexual misconduct, no intoxicants including smoking. Respect for the monastic community of Buddhist Monks and Nuns in the Mahayana Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
