Program Details

The volunteer position has become key to the way our hostel works.

You will be the one opening the door to our guests, and showing them around, so that first impression is very important. We try to make sure that they don't have any doubts or questions unanswered.

The hostel has a relaxed, multi-cultural environment. You will meet lots of people, but also have time for yourself. We have a great garden and like to make the most of it.

The job is quite simple and we take things quite easily, but we expect you to be responsible, friendly and proactive.

Activities & Shift

We have a professional cleaner every morning (except Sunday). She does the bulk of the cleaning in the rooms between 9am and 1pm.

After that we need to keep the building clean, make sure there is toilet paper, clear garbage, etc.
Sometimes we also need to prepare rooms in the cleaner's day off, for example.

Our lovely dog Greta is very quiet, loves to be petted and loves to go out for short or long walks. That will be one of your tasks. Most people really like it, she is very easy to deal with.

You will be expected to work around 2 to 4 hours per day, 5 or 6 days per week, in a flexible schedule.
Flexibility is very important, as check in times vary a lot.
Normally we have 3 or 4 volunteers, so you can expect to "negotiate" shifts according to the volunteers convenience.
