Honestly the hostel is great! Fun atmosphere with a lot of activities and parties every week. You will meet a lot of fellow travelers as well. Gabe and Matt are really cool and easy going and they respect the agreed hours and terms of work. Riga is an interesting city but can get a little boring after a while. I think that staying around 3 weeks here is perfect.

It was my first hostel volunteer and the host accepted me very quickly after the application. It wasn't what I have expected of a hostel volunteer since i wasn't experienced enough to inform what or how much work is really is. The housekeeping was for me really intensive. It's a big hostel with many bathrooms and beds to do. And we were only two volunteers in housekeeping so i think it is a big issue! I quit the volunteer after a week to find out from other hostel/ volunteer that it's not the standard of a hostel volunteer what I've experienced there. I wouldn't recommend this hostel.

Pretty dissapointed to read this review. The reality is you worked for 4 hours with our cleaning team, and then called in sick the next day, and then again for the next 3 days. We offered to help with you seeing a doctor or buying meds or whatever but you declined. So we gave you the benefit of the doubt...until we saw you going out drinking with guests after the 4th day you said you were too sick to work. If you had been honest with us after your first shift and said this wasnt for you, or not what you expected, we would have said no worries, and happily let you crash in the staff dorm for a couple of days until you figured out your plans. But instead you continued lying about being sick, being super defensive when we asked how you were doing, rather than just simply saying you didnt want to stay. We only found out you were leaving after a manager saw you leaving with your bags. So yeah you stayed for a week, after spending 6 of those days pulling a sicky.....

I had an amazing experience at the hostel. I worked during few hours in the mornings (simple tasks : making beds, cleaning bathrooms, etc). Gabriel and Matt are very nice, I had a lot of fun working with them (I even had the opportunity to shoot with guns guys, at a shooting range). That's why I decided to extend my stay for one more week. If you go, you will meet a lot of people from all arround the world. Also, it is a safe place for girls travelling alone. ;)

Excelente experiencia. Fue mi primer voluntariado y superó todas mis expectativas. Luego de mis primeras dos semanas, tuve un accidente en el que me quebré un brazo, y ellos, sin ningún problema, me dijeron que me quedara tranquilo, que podía quedarme todo el tiempo que fuera necesario sin nada a cambio. Puntos a destacar: El trabajo es muy fácil y tranquilo. Excelente ambiente laboral. Beneficios positivos. Si te gusta la fiesta, este es tu lugar :) Pd. ¿Cómo me rompí el brazo? Camino a la disco me topé con un bar donde estaban jugando a las pulseadas por diversión... lo demás es historia.

Nuestra experiencia en este hostal ha sido muy satisfactoria y 100% recomendable, tanto las instalaciones como el equipo de trabajadores y los voluntarios nos hicieron sentirnos muy cómodas y disfrutar al máximo la experiencia. Si buscas un lugar para tener fiesta cualquier día de la semana pero también conocer el centro viejo de la ciudad, este es el sitio adecuado!! 😄😄

Uno de mis mejores experiencias, nose por donde empezar! Darta, Chris, Monica, Alex; todo el staff es super cool, las horas de trabajo son muy tranquilas, y el hostel siempre esta en vibra para hacerte pasar un buen momento todos los dias, lo recomiendo 100% y espero poder volver algún día! priekā!!!!!!
