The natural environment is amazing, you get to be in the middle of a forest. The hours are respected, just make sure you know what you will be needed to do and on which of the farms, cause it makes a difference. The couple who works at the farm I went to, were very kind people but if you don't speak a bit of Spanish, it can be challenging! The room was in a problematic condition when I arrived,(missing essentials as well)and the bathroom too. Manuel (the co-owner) is doing his best to accommodate and help!

It's being such a amazing opportunity to learn more about nature, sustainability and how the locals live. Emmanuel and Citlali don't live in the area but they keep a great communication with the volunteer, the food is great and the room is comfortable. I super recommend

Nemi rancho is amazing. even though Citlali and Manuel were not there much the time they were there they were friendly and amazing people. Fidel and Nora are great teachers i learned alot about trouts and frogs and bees. Going in with the bees was an awesome experience i recommend the reserve 100%

The reserve ranches are immersed in a rural setting. Working hours are respected and meals are ok, but if you want to eat 3 times per day you have to agree with the manager. We work with trout a few times a week, we did gardening, painted the walls, pressure washer, cleaning in general. I've been to two ranches, the 1st week at the Rincon with Alfredo, open country, it's not the place shown in the picture. The 2nd with Arturo in la Guitarrita where there is the forest, and the waterfall. Problem: internet very slow and humidity. Thanks to Manuel, Citlali, Arturo and Alfredo and their famili

Citlali and Manuel are amazing people who will welcome us into their home. They were so caring and kind and I would recommend this project to anyone who wants to see a side of Mexico that is far away from the tourist areas. Being able to speak Spanish would give you the full experience as not many locals are able to speak English, however we managed on English alone it we had a great time.

My partner and I stayed two weeks on a trout farm near Aputzio. The farm is immersed in a beautiful forest, worthy to explore during the free time. We felt welcomed by Fide, the farm manager, a lovely person with which we shared working duties and enjoyable moments. The work consisted of caring for the trouts and updating the shared areas of the farm. It was also a great experience to learn about the local culture! However, there is room for improvement in the facilities and the communication. We are very grateful to Fide, Nora, Citlali, and Manuel for the opportunity!

I spent the last two weeks in two ranches of Citlali and Manuel to take pictures. This time have been super interesting and instructive. I was warmly welcomed by the two families who run the two ranches. I was able to learn more about Mexican culture and aquaculture. I was lucky to be there during the town's patron saint's day where all the surrounding area came to celebrate. I would recommend this volunteering to anyone who wants to get to know Mexico better, enjoy a beautiful nature, take part in a project with an environmental and humanistic conscience and improve their Spanish.
