We had a wonderful experience working for the hosts for 2 weeks! We worked from 9am-1pm, Monday-Friday. Breakfast and lunch was on our own to prepare from items in the pantry/fridge and Colleen prepared dinner each evening. This was our first work exchange experience and had a great time! We immediately felt like part of the family upon meeting them. the home does a great job at assigning tasks that are within your capabilities and will show you the proper way of completing the task.

The hosts were very welcoming and made me feel at home. Colleen is an amazing cook and made sure I got to taste delicious traditional dishes. the home has lots of stories to tell and you can learn some things from him. I generally worked 1 hour with Colleen to prepare dinner and do some cleaning, after that the home I worked in the garden. It was never too hard the home explained the job very detailed to make sure I understood. They certainly make sure you only work the 4 hours. And although the place is quite remote, they definitely made sure I got to see the beautiful area.

It was a pleasure to meet the hosts, they make you feel a part of the family from the very first step you take in their home. The work is fair, always 4 hours per day, with 2 days off. During free time, is possible to spend the time chilling in their living room, full of books, play Petanque with the home, or also in his indoor gym, if you're interested he can become your persona trainer too. Coleen is a fantstic cooker, and during your meals is guaranteed a very nice conversation about any topic you have in mind. They are lovely people and I recommend this experience to every traveler.

I really enjoyed my time at their place. Their house is very nice and the room was super cosy, and Coleen cooks really delicious meals! I enjoyed talking with the family the home told us a lot of interesting and funny stories. They are very precise with the hours of work, they were exactly 4 per day, with weekend as 2 days off. But they are flexible and they changed the day off if you need it, like they did with us. We learnt a lot about gardening and that was so important for us. We also played petanque with the home he's a champion! I highly recommend this experience to everyone!

The experience is just as described on the website. My job has consisted in helping Colleen for one hour (meal preparing mainly) and then working with the home for three hours each day. The work is very varied (helping with gardening, tidying sheds...) and they are always very cautious about not working more than 4 hours a day. I had the afternoons and weekends free. During the afternoons I enjoyed playing petanque with the home, spending time with the grandchildren and working out in his gym.On the weekends I did all sorts of activities in the area, and often they took me by car to see different places

The hosts are very genuine and gracious people. They truly include you as a member of the family. The food was great and accommodation was very nice. The farm is very rural so you must have a car to do things. But, the home colleen did drive me to go skydiving, take me into town etc., whenever it was convenient for the both of us. I found the farm to be a bit isolating as they only have 1-2 volunteers at a time and I was alone. That being said, if you want to learn a lot about plants and top notch home gardening, and don't mind being in a rural area, this place is for you.
