The hotel is a beautifully designed building, with old decor and massive rooms. The place is huge. the hotel houses a lot of Ukrainian guests who are waiting for a home and Sav, the boss, looks after her guests with clean and comfortable rooms and dinner in the evenings. The chefs cook amazing food and everyone sits in the dining room. Everyone is very pleasant and Sav prioritises everyone's comfort. She was always around to chat if anyone needed it and Josie has been there over 20 years and she has a tight ship which creates a real positive atmosphere.

The stay was short, but I felt at home. The hotel team gives you freedom during your turn because you trust you. And that I liked it. Josie and Sav very good wave! They made me feel part of the team! In general you do not have much dealing with the guests, only with your volunteermates. The train A to Edinburgh costs 7 pounds round trip. And in the village there is a Crrca grochries at 10 min walking and a corner shop at 5 min. The room is mixed, for 4, with respect to the other's dream you can go well! I'll be back when I want to return to Edinburgh! Thanks for the short but plesent stay ☺️

Volunteering at the hotel was a truly positive experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and respectful, which made my time there enjoyable. The volunteer accommodation is comfortable, the shifts are fair, and the tasks are easy to manage. I'm especially grateful to Sav and Josie for all the help and care I received during my stay.

This experience allowed me to meet several people with different cultures and languages. They made me feel welcome even though communication was sometimes difficult due to the language. Sav was always attentive and trying to solve what would be needed, Jossie is a very dedicated person to work and I got along well with her because she likes to do things well. I was able to visit Edinburgh many times because it is close and transportation is easy and I also enjoyed the activities I did as a volunteer, mainly cleaning and keeping everything tidy.

That was my first volunteering experience and it couldn't have been better! I was very well received by everyone, the room is excellent, gets plenty of sun, has space, overall it's a place where you'll have more privacy as you'll be sharing with just one person. The whole team is very kind and approachable, I felt like part of a family and I recommend this experience to everyone. Thank you for everything!

My experience in the hotel was truly amazing. It felt like a home away from home, and the people there made me feel like part of a big family. I'm incredibly grateful to Josie, Gillian, and Sav for their constant support and concern for our well-being. I had a great time and was able to develop genuine friendships with the other volunteers and the guests as well. It was my best experience so far, and I'll always carry the memories of this place and the people in my heart!

I came for two months and ended up staying for four. My time in the hotel was definitely a completely different experience and I am grateful for the chance of meeting such awesome people. Even to the last day. Josie was like a mother to us taking care of all we needed at all times, and Sav was always responsive to whatever we reached out for and willing to help. The team of volunteers and the Ukrainian guests I will never forget, and again I'm grateful you gave me the chance to meet you.
