I've been volunteering at the hostel for 5 weeks now and staying 3 more (keep extending haha). the hostel is such a nice hostel (commun areas, food, showers) but what makes it so special is obviously the lovely staff. I work at the bar, shifts are 7.5 hours long but you always get either the whole morning or afternoon off to go surf, chill by the pool, explore the mangroves or just enjoy the beach. El Paredon is a very fun and beautiful place to live. I will miss it and everyone here all my papis y mamis chulooos<3

The hostel is hands down the best hostel I've ever worked at. This is my 5th experience on Worldpackers and my favorite by far. The hostel is beautiful and the staff are so welcoming. It's truly a family there. A huge bonus is having the meals including in your experience! I've really improved my Spanish while working at the hostel! My 4 weeks turned into 6 and now I'll be working another 3 months officially. (How much I love it) Guatemala is an amazing country and El paredon really is a hidden gem. If you're thinking about joining the hostel family .. DO IT. You'll have an amazing experience!

The beauty AND crew of this hostel is one in a million. The crew is usually always down to party and will take you to local party areas, or on tranquil days will stay and chill and watch a movie with everyone who wants to join. The fact that the hostel is so new makes the stay super comfortable. The place is great for unexpected bartenders who want to learn about guest services and preparing cocktails. Overall my stay was a 10/10, would definitely recommend. Much love for the hostel crew, Jonas, Felix and Elli.

My 4 weeks in the hostel were amazing! The staff was caring and funny, everyone was here to help you in the work or daily life. Eli and Felix, the owners, are really nice and will do anything to help you to feel like home. The place is a little paradise between the facilities, the food, the chill area, the pool, the luxurious garden, etc. you will never want to leave this place ! I was a bartender and if you're not afraid to work "long shift" (7H/day), it will be perfect for you! It's a lot of fun and easy to do. There are 2 types of rooms, don't hesitate to ask what you prefer!

El Paredón es un lugar increíble. Y el hostel ni se diga. La comida es riquísima, mi cuarto era privado y muy cómodo. Tuve la oportunidad de aprender a surfear, conectar con locales y viajeros de todo el mundo y aprendí a hacer muchas bebidas. Por razones personales partí antes de tiempo y cuando lo hable con la persona encargada fue muy comprensiva, abierta y amigable. En general todos en el hostel lo fueron siempre. Es el lugar perfecto si buscas surfear, ir de fiesta, conectar con todo tipo de personas y conocer Guatemala (no solo El Paredón) por los increíbles beneficios que ofrece.

La mejor experiencia que he tenido como voluntario. El lugar es increíble, la comida deliciosa, pero lo mejor de todo es el personal. 100% recomendado, seguro pasaras un buen momento en el hostel.
