I stayed at the hostel for just over 2 months and really enjoyed it! Pippa goes out of her way to make you feel at home. I worked at a bar, and she was more than understanding and accommodated to my roster - she didn't have to do that and I'm very grateful. The work you're allocated each morning is very manageable; you get a chart with your tasks and training before. I was there during both slow and busy times, and Pippa always makes sure that you don't do too much. respect her rules and you'll have a great time I'll always have fond memories of this place and the lovely people I met here❤️

I had a fabulous time in the hostel with Pippa. The hostel is BEAUTIFUL with a large kitchen. It's super clean and just a 1 min walk from the beach. The work is easy, only 3 hours a day and very thoroughly explained. I am a very detail oriented person so this was easy for me but if you aren't a detail oriented person, this place isn't for you. Rules are followed but it makes the hostel safe and clean. the hostel is a small quiet town so if your looking for a party it's not here. If you want a lovely, chill place to relax with a caring host this place is for you. Thank you so much Pippa!!❤️

I had the most amazing time at the hostel. It was so great I've extended my stay! Pippa is an amazing host and the work load is very manageable as there were a few hours in the morning and the odd hour of work in the evening. This gave me so much time to tour around the town of the hostel and enjoy the beautiful beaches. The beach is a 30 second walk from the backdoor of the hostel. I was lucky enough to join the local tennis club and work part time at a restaurant! I would highly suggest volunteering here to anyone coming to Western Australia.

10/10 Can recommend staying here! Pippa has created a safe, calm and lovely environment in a small and beautiful town. Instructions and expectations are clearly communicated, socializing and volunteers getting along is highly prioritized. Work is never hard or many hours, especially on hot days! On a personal note, this place helped me settle and grow more confident on my journey though Aus as a first time solo traveler. Pippa made it feel like home, and if I ever get the chance I will definitely come back❤️

Positive: - the volunteers - the hostel is clean - the kitchen is good - the outdoor area is alright negativ: - the work is unreasonable absurd (we cleaned on a regular basis: the stairs spindels, the doors surfaces, moldings, ..) - offerd said 3h / day which was bare minimum (I had 5h+ shifts sometimes) - the 4 bed dorm were we slept is tiny - the host gonna check the cameras if you do ure stuff - There was no offered picked up service - There was no offered free laudry I just felt like being the cheapest employee, what keeps the hostel alive - couse there is barely someone..

Patrick did not honour his committment of 4 weeks. Patrick is not being honest in his review, I offered to pick Patick up from the bus station if he arrived on the 2.30pm bus. I am busy at reception and cannot leave if volunteers come on the later bus. Patrick chose to arrive on the 3.50pm bus. Patrick had no experience in housekeeping. Patrick struggled. Only 2.5 to 3 hrs of tasks are assigned. I do not check cameras, I do check the rooms to ensure they are upto standard. Sadly they were not

The hostel was the cleanest and coziest I've been to the hostel west coast. The other travelers volunteering were friendly and sociable. The guests were often quite friendly as well. I had the opportunity to converse with locals to Australia as well as a good mix of international travelers. The host is welcoming and has helped offer insight and advice to backpacking around Australia. There is often free food available in the kitchen which is helpful when you're low on $. 2 minute walk to the beach as well is very convenient! Would definitely come back if it aligns with my travels!

Pippa is a wonderful host that treats all her volunteers very well. As a first-time Worldpackers user, I felt safe as security, safety and comfort was paramount for the hostel. The work is manageable and clearly delineated, although the initial learning curve might be steep for someone new to housekeeping and to remember the meticulous steps in the system to keep this small, cozy hostel running and spotless. It is a good place to unwind and relax too as it feels homey. Thank you for hosting Pippa & team x

Had a fantastic time at the hostel! Pippa, her husband, Ramona, and Alex were all incredibly welcoming and helpful. The work itself was straightforward and easy to learn. One suggestion: Due to the hystorical building conditions, a more detailed explanation of cleaning procedures or a quick final check at the end of each shift could be helpful to ensure everything is spotless. Additionally, scheduling the weekly free day a few days in advance would be great for staff planning. Overall, a wonderful experience! The hostel itself is fantastic, and I loved the hostel. Hope to come back

Thank you for your feedback. Eleanora carried out her tasks very well, she was extremely capable and did not need extra training. We do however, give a very comprehensive training to volunteers and helpers, and have a working list for all helpers to assist them to carry out the tasks correctly, and to ensure nothing is missed. We do an inspection of all areas after all shifts, to ensure that all work has been competed. Eleanora would not have been aware of this as she always competed her work so well we never had to redo any areas that she had worked.

Staying with Pippa in the hostel was amazing! She is super sweet and welcoming. I had no experience in housekeeping before but I was given thorough training in every task. Work normally begins at 9:30 and you are given a checklist of things to complete each day. The amount of tasks depend on how many guests left and how many people work that day. I worked 3-6 hours per day. The facilities are also very modern and clean. The kitchen has a lot of shared items (including spices). The hostel is well located with many stores, museums, restaurants and the beach nearby.
