Program Details
We are developing a permaculture space and working with ancestral medicines. We are seeking like-minded individuals who would like to learn about permaculture, and ancestral medicines, and help us with various tasks.
We are looking for individuals who want to learn about community and sustainable living while wanting to give back and help us improve our NGO. The people we seek have a positive attitude (we work around kids), are always open to learning, are respectful, attentive, and above all, good-hearted.
No experience is necessary, however it is helpful. We are willing to train you on the permaculture techniques we use and teach you the tasks. We are also open to receiving families with previous experience.
We have a team member to guide you, myself. My son and I live in the space with 2 friendly dogs. We welcome you to our project!
Activities & Shift
Within La Pacha, we have a space dedicated to education where we share ancestral knowledge and permaculture. The main task is to support this space in whatever way you can help. This can include working in the gardens, green construction, working with children, helping with ceremonies, helping with marketing and social media, painting, maintenance, carpentry, etc.
We ask you to work 5 hours a day, Monday to Friday (8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.), with weekends off.
The center of Cuenca is only 20 minutes away by bus, and you can also visit Cajas National Park from here, one of the best places to see in the area if you like hiking and nature.
Rules
- No alcohol in the space
- Keep the space clean
- No smoking inside
- Clean up after yourself
- Turn off lights
- Quiet after 11 pm
