I was really lucky to be volunteering at the same time as other amazing volunteers and I loved getting to know them. Breakfast and doing PR are pretty easy shifts and are enjoyable. The beds shift is difficult but gets easier with time. The location is pretty central and I felt very welcome & at home at the hostel.

I really liked my Time there. The hostel is very central and the people working there are really polite and friendly. I meet a lot new travelers and got to see the city. In the time I was there all the Volunteers lived in the same small room without windows and a broken bathroom. That was too small us and after I mentioned the bathroom nobody fixed it. That was a little sad. But when I asked to move to the sister hostel the SDH they arranged it for me. There I slept in a girls room that was bigger and nicer. There I had a better time living. The work was easy and the working time was good.

Thank you for your feedback! :)
Just to mention that the first room you slept at had 4 people sleeping there and that the reason why you asked to move was not the few space nor the bathroom... Despite that, we listened to your complain and the bathroom is fixed by now, it was just a security tap that was closed.

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I had both an amazing and also a slightly challenging time at Lisbon the hostel. The scheduling is a little strange and confusing, and some weeks more might be expected of you than another. The beds shifts are a hard cardio session but there is now a set amount of beds volunteers are assigned so that does make it less daunting. I did meet amazing people during my time here and the hostel does have a very cozy vibe. If you come with a lot of knowledge of what will be expected of you I think you'll have a great time:)

Thank you for your feedback, Brooklynn :)
In your case, the amount of hours each week were always the same, but it is true that there are some tasks that require more effort than the others (for ex, making beds requires a bit more that doing reception), and that is exactly why the tasks rotate between volunteers.
Anyways, feel free to come back anytime in the future :)

My first experience as a volunteer couldn't have been better! The staff and the other volunteers made my stay very special! The hostel is centrally located, very clean and as soon as you enter the hostel you are welcomed into the family and everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The working hours are fair and very flexible and they ensure that you have enough free time to explore Lisbon or to visit another city for a few days. Obrigada por tudo e até breve:)

It was my first volunteer experience and It was amazing. I recommend this volunteer to everyone who wants to visit Portugal. I had many free days in a row so I could go to other cities and explore them. The working hours are fair, the beds shift can be challenging but with a good podcast its not that bad. You have free tours/pub crawls and there are many events in the hostel, don't miss the Karaoke night. The staff was very nice and funny. I had a great time there :)

Wow ! What an amazing experience 🫶 I couldn't recommend Sunset the hostel more !! You will have an amazing stay there ! The team of both Sunset and Lisbon the hostel is amazing, warm and welcoming. I loved my stay and didn't have one bad day at Sunset 🫶 ! Talking about the volunteering itself : it's very very simple and the hours are entirely respected !! I will visit Sunset again for sure !

I had a wonderful experience volunteering at the hostel! The working hours are respected and schedule is flexible. It's well located and you have plenty of time to explore the city or go on longer trips, for example to their sister hostels. Thanks to the amazing staff and the other volunteers that made the stay the best! I can't wait to go back to Lisbon some day!

I had an amazing experience while being a volunteer here! All the activities were as described and the schedule is well divided, so I had plenty of time to explore Lisbon, especially because of the perf location of the hostel. The volunteers room was also a high point, but the best part was definitely the staff. The hostel team is amazing, they're really kind, always doing their best to try to make us feel at home. Special shoutout to the receptionists, bar keepers and Rosa. Also, Magda, who's in charge of the volunteers, is really sweet and flexible, which is really helpful during our stay.

This experience was possibly the most memorable of my entire life. I met the most incredible people and had so much fun the entire way. The staff is fantastic, the other volunteers are universally amazing, and the city is so beautiful and enjoyable. As my first volunteering experience, it couldn't have gone better. I even extended an extra week! I 100% recommend this to anyone looking to volunteer somewhere.
