My first volunteer experience and it was really fun! Both hostels (Lisbon the hostel & Sunset the hostel) have a different vibe so it's great to be able to hang out at both whether for when you wanna chill or party. I mainly helped with reception and changing beds, reception was fun because you got to meet all the new guests and talk to them. Sometimes the schedules would change last minute which was frustrating if you already made plans on your days off.

Piece of paradise in Portugal! I arrived to spend only 1 month in the hostel Arrifana, and at the end, I'm satying to work at the bar all summer! The staff and volunteers are amazing. I really feel like being part of a lovely group. The hostel is a bit far from the city, but we have a 'carrinha', so they gave a ride on my arrival and every time I need to go to the supermarket. The housekeeping work was a bit intense, but it's super easy and good, because it was only 4 hours in the morning and then I was free to enjoy the beach (which is super nice and close). Thanks for everything, schnecken'

Where should I begin. Volunteering in this hostel was one of the best things I have ever done. From the beginning on I felt so welcomed by everyone so it was really easy to feel at home. The tasks where really easy and fair. I worked in both hostels they have in Lisbon and it was a good mix. The hostel is really nice to stay in because it's very clean and they have everything you might need. This hostel is one of the best places to be at. I will miss everyone and everything about it.

This was my first time volunteering in a hostel and I was instantly made to feel part of the family. I volunteered at both “the hostel” mainly at Lisbon, but sometimes at Sunset too. The work was quite relaxed, primarily focused on welcoming guests and building up a rapport, I feel that this role really plays to my strengths and as a result I have enjoyed my time immensely, when you are doing what you love, it really doesn't feel like work. The hours are really good (I worked 4 days and then had 4 days off) so I had plenty of time to do my own thing too!

Working at Sunset the hostel was such amazing experience because of the people I met, not because of the place. It's a good experience if you like to work a lot, sometimes more than 30 hours at week. The crew and location were incredible, but the management of the hostel wasn't the best part of the experience.

The hostel is a great place to meet people from all around the world! Other volunteers and workers are very nice. It was my first volunteering experience and I'm glad I chose this place. However, my working hours should have been more respected.

Although I have had only excellent experiences in my worldpacker and I am considered by all hosts as being 5 stars, this opportunity was not validated for me...I volunteered for only 1 day and requested immediate disconnection for breaking worldpacker rules. I remain an optimistic fanatic about the excellent future worldpacker opportunities.

Working in the hostel was an experience of a lifetime. I became part of such a solid, tightknit team who I can only call family. I hope to be back to see them all again soon. :)

I absolutely loved being a volunteer at the hostel. The work was simple and fun, I felt welcome and trusted, and my colleagues (both fixed and voluntary) were amazing. I stayed in the hostel at Rossio station and it had a relaxed but fun vibe. I miss it already!

This was my first time doing the Worldpackers experience and at the beginning I was a little bit skeptical about all the comments down below about the hostel but I can guarantee you, it is all true. All of the staff members are super nice and helpful. Whatever I would need I knew that could count on them. I felt I was at home far from my own home because of my colleagues. Fair amount of hour and a lot of benefits. Life is a the hostel ;) Don't waste time overthinking, just go for you next adventure :)
