I had such an amazing experience at the hostel! The hotel, the staff and the location were all amazing. Palomino is a gorgeous & safe town. The work is so easy, the rooms are nice and all of the staff are super nice and welcoming. You definitely need to have more than conversational Spanish language skills, as none of the full time staff speak English. Nonetheless, I managed to make it work & made some beautiful friendships! I would recommend this experience to everyone looking for a volunteering position in Colombia.

The hostel became my home super quick. All the people are so nice and welcoming. It was just a fun time. Brayan, Leidys, Paola, Davi ,Jonathan and Hegel they are just the best. They welcomed me and made me feel like a part of their team. The hostel is super nice and if there is anything you need they'll help you. Palomino is a small beach town and the vibe is super chilled. I would recommend this place 100 %. I also improved my Spanish while I was here which is a plus'. The work is very easy and the guest are super nice. Thank you for this amazing experience! I will be definitely back.

Unfortunately, this experience wasn't neither what I expected nor what we agreed on the platform. The information published on the profile doesn't reflect reality in terms of what you have to do and the schedule. As a recepcionist volunteer my main activities were helping in the kitchen, serving food, and cleaning tables. They also changed the schedule and one day the volunteer has to replace the hotel administrator on his day off in an 8-9 hour shift. This place is right for you if you're only seeking accommodation and breakfast in exchange for work, here you are more like an employee.

Lamentablente la expectativa de Alejandra en el voluntariado se enfocaba más en el descanso, la diversión y la fiesta que en apoyar al equipo cuando se necesitaba. No la recomendaría para un voluntariado serio en el cual se busca un gana-gana tanto para el voluntario como para el hotel. En este caso Alejandra no solo no incumplió con la propuesta publicada y aceptada en la plataforma, sino que además abandonó el hotel el tercer día de haber llegado.

Unfortunately, Alejandra's expectations in volunteering focused more on rest, fun and partying than on supporting the team when needed. She would not recommend her for serious volunteering where a win-win is sought for both the volunteer and the hotel. In this case, Alejandra not only failed to comply with the proposal published and accepted on the platform, but she also left the hotel the third day after she arrived.

This experience was truly amazing, I came to Palomino not knowing anybody and barely speaking Spanish and left fluent with a town full of friends. Hegel and Bryan are the most welcoming person you can think of, they will always find ways to make you feel at home. The other members of the staff are always smiling and with a great joy of life, whether it is Monica, Paola or Yilmer! The tasks are pretty easy, and the staff is always willing to switch shifts or do something else if you dont like doing one of them:) The place is beautiful, really peaceful, and they also have the best wifi in town!

Lilian was not only the first, was the best volunteer we ever had, he was always friendly, helping our guests, full of energy, funny and responsible! It was an incredible opportunity of life to had him working with us and we will miss Lilian for the rest of our life.

Palomino es muy lindo, las tareas en el Hostel son fáciles. Fue mi primera experiencia como voluntaria y no lo recomiendo si también es tu primera vez, ya que la comunicación con el encargado no es buena, te brindan poca orientación antes de llegar, y la bienvenida no es buena. No vas a trabajar en servicio social, no hay un espacio adecuado en la cocina donde puedas guardar tus cosas y se las pueden comer, también pueden vender tu cama y te tienes que alojar en otro Hostel o casa

Lamentamos la situación. Nunca vendimos tu cama; te reubicamos en una habitación privada con tu consentimiento. Hubo quejas sobre tu mala actitud con huéspedes y almacenaste alimentos en la nevera del hotel sin marcar, lo que causó confusión, pero repusimos todo. Además, dejaste el voluntariado antes de lo acordado sin previo aviso. El voluntariado es un intercambio con derechos y también con responsabilidades. Nosotros si te recomendaríamos porque creemos en las segundas oportunidades.

El hostel fue mi primera experiencia en voluntariado y la recomiendo a ojos cerrados. Todo el equipo es maravilloso, súper atentos y muy queridos, las instalaciones son muy bonitas y el trabajo es agradable.

El hostel fue una maravillosa experiencia. El grupo de trabajo es increíble, Nairo, Brayan, Santi, Heidi, Marielis, todos son personas increíbles que te harán sentir muy incluido, hay que estar preparado para ser mejores amigos y socializar mucho. Palomino es increíble, si quieres conocer nuevas personas es el lugar ideal. El trabajo es muy tranquilo y te queda tiempo libre. Fue mi primer voluntariado y lo repetiría 100%.

Este fue mi primer voluntariado y puedo decir que superó mis expectativas. the hostel es un lugar muy tranquilo y acogedor, empezando por el personal que trabaja ahí… Brayan, Santi, Anderson, Nairobys y las encantadoras Heidi y Andreina. Todos fueron muy amables conmigo, se tomaban el tiempo de explicarme cada una de las tareas, me hicieron sentir en casa, y sobre todo fueron muy atentos… ¡Me los llevo en el cora! - En el hotel hay un constante flujo de viajeros internacionales, lo cual me permitió mejorar mis habilidades comunicativas. ¡Recomiendo muchísimo este voluntariado!

La experiencia en el hostel fue muy bonita, el equipo de trabajo es muy amable, Brayan es muy dinámico, hay un buen trato y si el objetivo como voluntario es desconectarse de la rutina y vivir una experiencia diferente, aquí encuentras ese espacio. Como oportunidad de mejora, es importante equilibrar cargas laborales hacia todos los colaboradores que están prestando servicio y en este aspecto el voluntario podría aportar mucho más en las actividades del hotel, logrando de esta forma una gestión óptima del talento humano.
