The experience

We are in a central neighborhood in Rio, with a cheap market and transportation to all directions! You can explore the vibrant street fair in front of the hostel on Saturdays, and we also have a large shopping mall and market just a few steps away. Additionally, the famous trail to Bico do Papagaio is only 15 minutes away, perfect for nature lovers. What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details

Shifts of 6 hours, 5 times a week, with two days off. Management creates the schedule according to the hostel's needs; if there is availability, shift preferences can be negotiated. ARRIVAL TIME AT THE HOSTEL 9:00 AM TO 10:00 PM


Activities & Shift

STANDARD CHECKLIST

CLEANING:

Wash the dishes in the sink.
Perform basic cleaning of shared bathrooms and kitchens.
Clean guest rooms after checkout.
Hand wash floor cloths and hang them in the designated area.
TRASH:

Empty full trash bins into the container and clean the trash bins.
Take the container to the front of the hostel on the following days: Tuesday (Morning), Thursday (Morning), Saturday (Afternoon).
LAUNDRY:

Fold and store clean bed linens.
Place dirty bed linens in the designated baskets.
RECEPTION

CHECK-IN:

Provide the code and explain how to enter and exit.
Show the guest around the hostel.
Take them to their room and attach the metal tag to the bed or room.
For check-ins between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM, you can keep the late check-in fee, which must be charged to the guest.
CHECKOUT:

Collect the metal tag and any rented items, if applicable.
Offer a review promotion.
SELLING:

Sell products and services through the payment terminal program.
If someone wants to do laundry, write their name, room, and whether they want washing and drying or just washing on the basket.


Rules

TEAM RULES

1 – NO DRUGS: It is strictly forbidden to possess or consume drugs on the hostel premises or in the street where the hostel is located.

2 – NO ALCOHOL: Storing or consuming alcoholic beverages in the hostel is prohibited, as is being in common areas under the influence of alcohol (exceptions apply on party days).

3 – SHOWER LIMIT: Showers are limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.

4 – NO VISITORS: Visitors are not allowed in the hostel.

5 – VOLUNTEER ROOMS ONLY: Volunteers must sleep exclusively in the designated volunteer rooms.

6 – KEEP IT TIDY: Keep the volunteer room organized and do not leave your belongings scattered around the hostel.

7 – LAUNDRY USAGE: Laundry facilities are available only on Tuesdays. Do not insist on using them on other days; if necessary, use the sink.

8 – KITCHEN SAFETY: Do not leave the kitchen while your pots are on the stove! Food must be stored in containers.

9 – LOUNGE PRIORITY: Guests have priority in the lounge. Activities that block its use, such as video calls, meditation, etc., are prohibited.

SHIFT RULES:

10 – STAY AT RECEPTION: Once the checklist is complete, remain at the reception during your shift.

11 – WEAR YOUR VEST: Volunteers must wear the vest during their shift.

12 – NO HEADPHONES OR MUSIC: Using headphones or listening to music during the shift is not allowed. It disturbs the guests and makes it hard to hear the doorbell.

13 – NO COOKING DURING SHIFTS: Preparing meals during the shift is not permitted. Cook before or after your work hours.

No one is obligated to be here or volunteer. Only apply if you agree with these rules. While at the hostel, accept and respect the rules without complaints, objections, or grumbling.
