It was my first experience as a volunteer, and it was really nice. Altough the room didnt habe a window (this was disclosed when applying), it was okay to stay in for 3 weeks. The host was really friendly and you could always reach out if you had questions. We always ate lunch together at an other hostel, with volunteers from alot of different hostels, so it was really easy to meet other solotravellers and to make friends.

I truly loved being here. I met so many people from all over the world and made some good friends. The food you get is so delicious. The work is as expected and fair. Only the room could be a bit better. But you get used to it, and eventually it doesn't bother you anymore. Thank you so much for everything. I already miss you <3

It was my first solo travel experience and i loved it so much! first of all the work is fair and we started at 10:30 everyday. after work we went to another hostel and ate lunch there (always very good!😋) after 3 days of work we got a day off :) besides the work i had a great time with the other girls. you can spend your time alone or in the group, it was perfect. also the hosts pedro, sonja and josefina are so lovely and i'm so glad i met them. if you had a problem they were there for you and tried their best to help you🩷 i will never forget my time there and recommend it to everyone :)

This experience was amazing! Pedro and Sonja are so nice and the really care about your wellbeing. The work is easy and you have alot of free time. So I explored almost the whole algarve aswell. The lunch is always great and you meet alot of people there aswell. I would definitely recommend it. In some other reviews I read, people complain about the room. I dont think its that bad but you shouldn't have high expectations. And yes there are cockroaches in the bathroom sometimes.

Pedro and Sonja were lovely hosts! They were always helpful and very kind. The work was easy and didn't take much, and the town of Faro was amazing. I loved my time here :)

This was my first volunteering and I can say it was incredible. The working hours are fair, although the cleaning work is tiring, the days off and the place pays off a lot. The hosts are very attentive, and I was able to meet wonderful people. I loved Faro.

I LOVED my time in Faro. The hours are very fair, 10:30-2:30 and you get one day off after three working. I really enjoyed staying at the Female Hostel as well, I felt so safe and welcome. Also this is a great way to practice Spanish! (More so I found than living in Spain). My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.

Faro was close to beautiful places like Lagos, Albufeira and Tavira all accessible by train. Faro was small and friendly and the Portugese the guest house was in a good central location. The work was sometimes overwhelming but I found hours good (10-2) and I also made really kind and lovely friends. This was my first experience volunteering so I was super nervous but I had an enjoyable time :)

I stayed three weeks in the beginning of April and had an amazing time. Josefina explained everything on my first day. The tasks are absolutely makeable (3-4 rooms, 2 bathrooms and one kitchen to clean) and whenever there are unexpected things happening you canreachout to Josefina or via WhatsApp to Pedro. We shared delicious Lunch with other volunteers in another hostel (5min by foot). They only thing that I did not find that good was that the room had no window and there was not really a place to hangout as the kitchen is really small but we had good weather and could go outside...

I enjoyed my time here! The work is super fair, it's the least amount of work I had in a volunteer experience. Josefina is really nice and explains everything to you perfectly and clearly, and even helps you on the busier days. Pedro and Sonja are also friendly and there for you if you ask :) Because it's a guesthouse and not a hostel, I struggled with feeling lonely sometimes because it doesn't have the same social atmosphere as a hostel. But it's easy to get around Portugal and even Sevilla from Faro, I still consider my time here worth it. It's great if you want to see Algarve. Obrigada!:)
