The experience

We're looking for someone to do the housekeeping of the hostel. This includes cleaning dorm rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily.
Housekeepers must have basic knowledge on HOW to clean.

For the receptionist position, we require a basic understanding of computer equipment, good social interaction and joy for helping guests.

English required. Additional languages a plus!


What you offer

5 hours of help per day

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Requirements

Fluent English

Between 18 and 32 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

By coming to work with us, you agree to follow our rules and be a team player. Anyone who is found to be slacking or coming just for a good time will be asked to leave. The job is easy and fun but it is integral to our success as a hostel. All of our past volunteers are a huge key to our success, join the list of greats.

Any applicants, please be aware that you will be the only staff members at the hostel, which means that we ask you to keep watch of the hostel at night.


Activities & Shift

Cleaning Shift begins at 10am. If we need you earlier, we'll make sure to ask you.
Check out and housekeeping time is noon. At that point, we expect the rooms to be taken care of and linen to be changed. After the rooms are done, the rest of the apartment should be done. You can expect to be done with work by 2pm leaving you plenty of time to enjoy the Lagos sun.

Reception Shift will start around 5pm until 10pm. Some days for later check-ins it will be asked for you to be prepared for it (usually we have the times of arrival).

Regardless of the shift will be asked to any of the volunteers in house to keep the place clean and tidy through out the day (especially at the end of the day/begin of the night).


Rules

You will be asked to follow the same rules as our guests. But because you will be part of the team, we expect more from you. Be courteous, be social, have fun but be respectful.
