This was our first Worldpackers experience and it was great! Kuni is very kind and made us delicious meals. The other volunteers were great to be around as well! The work is simple, though there a few tasks and guidelines that could have been explained more efficiently. All of the guests were very nice and understanding when there was confusion, though! We stayed in an upstairs apartment with most of the other volunteers. The apartment is right next to a train station and near the beach and temples. We definitely want to come back in the future!

My host Kuni, made me feel so welcome from the minute I got there! He is one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in my time in Japan. Take the time to talk to him because he's a super interesting guy and he makes the best food as well! As for the work itself, it's very easy and a great way to practice some Japanese. Super reasonable work. You bounce around 3 hostels and work reception for a few hours at night and in the morning. Kamakura has a very easy going environment and it's so much fun to explore! Very convenient location with lots to offer.

Kamakura is a little further away from the big cities but that stop me from exploring, experiencing all that Japan had to offer! Kuni and his family are the sweetest and most welcoming people I've had the opportunity to meet! I'll be back and can't wait to see them again :) The work was easy and I've made life long friendships because of it! The other volunteers were amazing people can't thank them enough! You've just gotta jump on opportunity because it's not one to miss! The home-style cooking and feel made me feel incredibly comfortable and my Japanese improved immensely !

My experience in Kamakura was amazing! The other volunteers were so wonderful, the work was very simple and the expectations were clear. Kuni was the absolute best host and nicest guy - I will be thinking about his cooking forever. Definitely download Line before you arrive in Japan to make communication easier. Overall I cannot recommend enough, and I'd happily come back :)

I literally couldn't have picked a better first Worldpacker's experience! Kuni San was an amazing host who immediately made me feel at home and welcomed. The food was amazing, every day I left the Wonder Kitchen full and happy! The work is easy and you still have plenty of time to explore Japan. Kamakura is beautiful and chill, it's great for relaxing and if you want something more lit Tokyo is a quick train ride. One thing that should be mentioned is outside of your work nights you don't stay at any of the hostels but an offsite apartment with other volunteers separated by gender.

I had the best experience! Kamakura is such a good location to be, the house is 5mins next to the beach and there are so many shrines and temples to visit. There are also a lot of daytrips you can take from here such as Hakone and Tokyo. The job is easy and it's great that it's at night time because you have the rest of yhe day to tour. Also Kuni and Ai-san has been amazing I will miss mostly their kindness and the food they cooked for us everyday which was delicious! I hope to come back here someday! Thank you for your hospitality.

This was my very first Worldpackers experience and I couldn't be any more happy with it! Kuni-San is a gentle, understanding, and caring host who was so kind to cook for us and provide us a nice place to stay when we weren't working at the hostels. I had so much fun getting to know the other international volunteers and locals and will always hold the town of Kamakura close to my heart! It's a beautiful coastal town with amazing cute cafes, beach spots, and shrines. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested and lucky enough to get accepted! Thank you so so much Kuni!
