I literally couldn't have picked a better first Worldpacker's experience! Kuni San was an amazing host who immediately made me feel at home and welcomed. The food was amazing, every day I left the Wonder Kitchen full and happy! The work is easy and you still have plenty of time to explore Japan. Kamakura is beautiful and chill, it's great for relaxing and if you want something more lit Tokyo is a quick train ride. One thing that should be mentioned is outside of your work nights you don't stay at any of the hostels but an offsite apartment with other volunteers separated by gender.

I had the best experience! Kamakura is such a good location to be, the house is 5mins next to the beach and there are so many shrines and temples to visit. There are also a lot of daytrips you can take from here such as Hakone and Tokyo. The job is easy and it's great that it's at night time because you have the rest of yhe day to tour. Also Kuni and Ai-san has been amazing I will miss mostly their kindness and the food they cooked for us everyday which was delicious! I hope to come back here someday! Thank you for your hospitality.

This was my very first Worldpackers experience and I couldn't be any more happy with it! Kuni-San is a gentle, understanding, and caring host who was so kind to cook for us and provide us a nice place to stay when we weren't working at the hostels. I had so much fun getting to know the other international volunteers and locals and will always hold the town of Kamakura close to my heart! It's a beautiful coastal town with amazing cute cafes, beach spots, and shrines. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested and lucky enough to get accepted! Thank you so so much Kuni!

This experience for me was crucial in my personal goals. The experience of being and living in kamakura was incredible. Kurosawa san is a really nice person and very open to talk about any matter, and not to mention the way he cooks!!, omg his food is delicious and always served with best quality and presentation. I loved working as night staff in the hostels, it helped me to improve my Japanese speaking, also I could make and excellent relationship with the girls of the Japanese staff and my roomies. Definitely I want to come back again very soon! 🫢🏻

I had a great experience with Kurasawa San & Ai San. They are both very welcoming and of course preparing very delicious breakfast and dinners daily at Wander Kirchen 😍 Before coming please download the app LINE to communicate with staff and other volunteers this will help you on your arrival (you can see your shifts here) Please know, before coming we are currently working at three hostels (but they're all within close range) so don't stress. We are actually stationed at a house where we all live together (volunteers only) and the walk to work & wander kitchen is 20 minutes πŸ˜€

Kamakura is a magical town that breathes peace through its streets. The tasks to be carried out are very simple and leave a lot of free time to go to Yokohama or Tokyo. The atmosphere that is breathed is one of camaraderie and friendship but as if that were not enough... For the Love of God!! How Kurosawa San and Ai San cook!! The chefs of silence πŸ€©βœ¨πŸ˜‹ you can only say: Oishi!! Totally recommended, you are taking time to apply 🚞
