My experience at the guest house was incredible!! If you want to immerse yourself in Irish tradition, this is definitely the right volunteering option. Lots of dancing, music, loved ones and a lot of LIFE! I'm going to miss the dances on Fridays, Annie, Pete, Guz, Freddie, Teo, Juno and the whole family. Thank you, you will forever be in our hearts.

The guest house is for sure the most irish experience that you will have! with a lot of dance, music everyday, friendly and lovely people, a bunch of lake spots to swim and a really really warm and sunny weather (only the last part isn't totally true, but it's ireland). annie and pete are really lovely hosts, actually much more than that! i felt at home and between my own family. guest and any other person that you will find at the guest house will for sure be the same, met a lot of amazing people over there, it was hard to leave.

Hello everyone I thought a lot about how to start talking about Greagh house but the truth is that you need to go there and see it with your own eyes, dance with your own feet and hear it with your own ears. Perfect place to have a valuable cultural immersion, find a community to be part of and make friends. The house is big and needs a lot of care, Anne is not usually strict with the tasks, but if you are going there I ask that you look at the place with care and help keep things in order. I thank Anne, Pette and the whole family for making us feel at home 🧡

My experience in the guest house was one of the best of my trip. Annie and Peter make you feel like family and include you in all their plans. The work was very easy-going; Annie always tries to make sure you feel comfortable with what you're doing, and the schedules and days were quite flexible. I really enjoyed the music and dancing, Sundays at the lake, walks, sunsets on the rooftop, the pubs, and the great vibes that were always present in the house. I will definitely return and stay longer; I made many friends and have wonderful memories. Thank you Annie, Peter, Theo, Gus, Joe and everyone 🫶🏻

I think words fail me when I try to describe my time at the guest house. I truly felt like part of the family. Annie, Pete, and Gus made me feel so welcome and comfortable. They were always checking in to see if I was happy, asking if I was tired, and telling me to take a 10-minute break. They made sure we had eaten and had plans to explore the beautiful region. You'll basically be living in peace and quiet, only hearing the sheep, cows, and chickens. I'm really going to miss everything! And of course, the interaction with Irish culture was incredible.

It was an amazing and immersive experience. I met a lot of people from all the world. The house was cold and little bit mess but I had been warned by Annie, so It's was ok for me. Annie and Pete are very nice and flexible. It was good for me to be in countryside, it's a beautiful, calm, nears to the forest and lake. I improved my English and I am more confidente to speak.

The guest house is the kind of place you don't expect much from when you arrive and when you're leaving you realize you've had more experiences than you imagined. The family has a beautiful energy, the house is always full of music, dancing, friends, parties and lots of love. The work is smooth, everyone is always very friendly, flexible and helpful. It's certainly a unique experience. Thank you Annie, Peter and all the incredible people I've met in this place I now call home. I'll miss you! ❤️

Fantastic experience! Annie, Pete, and everyone at the guest house are all incredible and kind people who make you feel right at home. They go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and included. The tasks vary, as there is always something to be done, and there is flexibility. I learned quite a lot about the traditional Irish dance and music, which was an awesome cultural immersion. The house was a tad cold, since it was winter time, but manageable in my opinion. My experience at the guest house will forever be in my heart. Thank you for everything!

I don't think the place has the minimum conditions of habitability. The house is basically in semi-ruins. Everything is very dirty and dusty. The kitchen is basically unhealthy. The bedroom is messy (that's the least of it), but it's also quite dirty. And the jewel in the crown is the bathroom. It has no ceiling and the walls are full of green mould up to waist height (there are cleaner stables). In short, when I saw that, I left.I feel sorry for Gus, because he seemed like a very nice guy, but I don't think that house is habitable.

It clearly states in the description that part of the house is still under renovation. It's not perfect but that is the reason we receive volunteers We receive many volunteers, if you look back at the reviews you'll see how many people have given us 5 star reviews and had a fantastic time here. I'm sorry it didn't suit you, but your opinion is not everybodys

We would strongly advice people not to go there! The water has dangerous amounts of lead in it, the food is all expired, dirty and mouldy. Our accommodation was awful, the room was very dusty and full of spiders, the sheets were very dirty and there was black mould on the walls and ceiling. There was mildew and blood stains on the mattress, duvets/ pillows. The only good part about our trip was meeting all the wonderful volunteers there, and the nature was beautiful too. We didn't even last 3 days before getting terribly sick.We were mislead by all the positive reviews so we need to be honest.

The water is safe, it doesn't have more lead in it than the average city house. You also didn't voice any of your concerns to us so that we could help you fix them. You did zero work and then faked a migraine and snuck out of the house without telling anyone. Most people who come here are clearly hardier than you and love it, hence the positive reviews.
